Glitch sorted in Toothpaste

Hi all. Thanks to the Live Chat and some awesome members I just sorted out a glitch that I had with my theme. I used Toothpaste right from the start and built my website with that and never changed. I like its clean look. Trouble was I could not get my comments to load on my home page, which is also my Blog. I checked every setting I could find as I clicked through all the tabs and things in Wordpress. I checked FAQ's, searched Help, , made sure I had 'comments' clicked about 20 times, but could not work out how to get the comments to behave on my home page!

I am guessing that some of you, like me, are new to this and stumbling their way through. I certainly am. Anyway, I finally remembered that al I probably needed to do was ask WA Live Chat. Duh. So I asked, and got instant replies. People showed concern for my dilema. Ahhhhh! I was told to check my settings, make sure comments were allowed, check this, check that. I did. Finally I was told to try a different theme. Bingo! I hadn't thought of that. I had been using Toothpaste from the start and made every mistake that a man could make building my website! So I changed it. I hated the look of the new theme but guess what!? The comments were working on the homepage. I tried another theme! Pow! Working. I thought about it for a minute and tried to pretend I knew how this could be happening, but alas, I have no idea. I then decided to take the plunge and go back to my original, old faithful Toothpaste. It worked.

So my word of advice here for us newbies.....when you think you can go no further and you have tried everything there is to try but it still wont work! reach out to the wonderful people of WA. They will sort you out. If not.....you're buggered.
