There are many things one could say about oneself, but there comes a time when you're asked to talk about yourself, and you suddenly go blank.
That was my case here, anyways ...
Now, several minutes into the future, and here I am, finally coming up with a few ideas of what I wish to tell you about me (I find it funny how'll you get to read all of this uninterruptedly, while it probably took me around half an hour or possibly even more to complete it).
Throughout the years, ever since I was a child, I've pretty much always been involved in different activities, mostly sports. I've practiced soccer, basketball, volleyball, karate, taekwondo, swimming, and a few others.
The thing is, I never really came to LOVE them when I used to practice them as a kid, especially swimming. I hated getting up early to go to my swimming lessons. Not because of the idea of getting up early in the morning; it was the idea of diving headfirst into freezing water early in the morning.
Ironically, my favorite sport today is... Want to take a guess? That's right, swimming!
Eventually, I came to the realization that when you try something for the first time, and you don't fully enjoy it, it doesn't necessarily mean you won't, ever. Even better: Don't give up after your first try.
Maybe I didn't like swimming when I was little because I perceived it as something my parents wanted me to do, and I just wanted to please them. However, not too many years ago, already into my adulthood, I decided to try giving it a second chance, and it worked wonderfully for me.
I took a different approach on it, I made it my own decision to try again, and I totally enjoyed it this time.
How you tackle a situation can drastically alter the outcome.
