List Building Strategies

Your list should be your number 1 priority regardless of the business you are in. There are a lot of things you can do to increase your list. Some are free while others you need to pay money to attract prospects.

Before we go any further and since we are talking about money, here is the monetary value I think is fair to attach to you list:

  • If you have a subscribers list, each name on the list should worth $1/month/person
  • If you have a buyers list, each name on the list should worth $10/month/person

So, if you have 1000 people on your subscribers list and 500 people on your buyers list, your lists should be worth 1000x$10+500X$10=$1000+$500=$1500/mo.

What does this mean?

This means that you must track your costs and performance of your list! Your list must bring you value and show performance, or else it will be worthless.

The money is not in our list but in your relationship with your list.This is your priority as a business owner and as an online marketer.

You must give your list something of value. Yes, that means give something for FREEso they can get to know you, value you, and ultimately purchase whatever you are selling or promoting. Nothing is really for FREE, right?

Do you think this is manipulative? Maybe, but you should not think like that. I would call it being strategic.

How do you do that?

Create a squiz page or a landing page where you offer something for free. It can be an eBook, a video, a report, free products, anything that will make somebody want to enter their information to get it. This page must be mobile responsive as many of people will rely on their cellphones to look up information or conduct business.

Now that you have created a mobile responsive opt-in page you need to get it in front of your traffic. This means you need to get it in all the major search engines like and other platforms like:

  • Google Groups
  • Youtube Channels
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook Groups, Pages, and Advertising
  • Twitter + Twitter Advertising
  • Yahoo Groups
  • Instagram
  • Snapchat
  • Pinterest

Get your offer in the marketplaces like:

  • JVZoo
  • Warrior Plus
  • Clickbank
  • Clicksure
  • pay.com, etc.

When putting your products in these market places, do not just put it in and watch what happens. Make a deal with other people to promote your account/product. Offer to give them 100% profits for a limited period of time until you build up your product reputation and trust. It is better to have no profits for 2 weeks and have your sales skyrocket, than releasing your product and nobody heard of it. Think about it!!!

When contacting your list, do not do what other affiliates do: keep sending them offers upon offers upon offers. Your list will go down and you will get not traffic and no sales. You need to give them incentives, get their attention and make them participate in the conversation.

Getting your offer to convert

Customer support issues

Waiting to get paid

Waiting to get approved

Only making a percentage of sales

Slave to the vendor’s offer (launches, etc.)

Not an evergreen business model

The common solution to solve the problems for both these categories is:

Leverage existing vendor’s products through high quality resell rights

Buy resales rights when promoting other peoples’ products. There are several of resale rights you can buy:

  • Personal resale rights (for your use only)
  • Developer rights (you and your clients)
  • Resale rights (sell it as is and keep 100% of the profits)
  • Private label rights (you can change it, sell it & keep 100% of profits0
Why Resale rights?

With resale rights it is as easy as pasting a sales video link and your buy now button on your sire and you are ready to go! You will only need to give your prospects a link to download the product.

More Your Prospects to Slowdown Lists

When you email your lists only 10% of the people open it. Do not send them another message right away. Make them wait a little bit. When creating the next message make some changes like change the subject line completely. You want to get people to open your message and click on the offer inside. Create an exciting new subject line demanding curiosity, excitement, or any other emotion. Change the first sentence or the first paragraph.

If people do not open your emails as often as you would like set up a slowdown list in addition to your regular list.

Questions: what is a slowdown list? When somebody gets too many emails from you, give them the option to move to a list where you are not sending out as many emails. It is better to have them request to be moved (if they do that you know they at least read your emails) than to lose them completely and not have any interaction.

Set up a separate list for each product/promotion you have. Have it set up where there is a 3-4-5…whatever number of emails about each product/campaign. This way you are not over flooding them with emails and you keep the focus on the products/campaigns you want to promote.

In your emails format the what, why, how, when!

To increase your profits even more you can do a couple of things like split test your offers, create a follow up series for each product, triple click your broadcast offers, add winners to your main follow up series, put your product on market places, add affiliate offers to your follow up series after, pick residual services for ongoing profits, offer unique bonus for buying through your link, as you get established, as vendors for higher profit percentages, ask vendors for a related bonus to promote

There are so many other things you can do to get bigger lists and more sales! You have to be creative and innovative with your list. Do not just send offers and present products but build a trusting and stable relationship with your list. This is the best thing you can do as an online marketer.
