O.K. The Penny Has Dropped On A Small Thing I'd Overlooked.
You Know when you know there is something that isn't quite right with your sites and and you think you should be doing something but the questions you ask don't really quite sink in as an answer but a confusion?
Feeling A Little Deflated After Hours, Days, Weeks, Months Trying To Figure It OutWell, I get it now. There was something very important, that some how I had missed out, with all of my websites!!!
Yesterday, I managed to do a ton of necessary work on two of my websites that took all day and most of the night to do until I fell asleep on the setee - again!
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
It was a lot up updating content - adding bit's of new and fresh stuff and also adding proper categories - forgot to do (didn't know enough about them) at the time, adding tags (also not enough knowledge of them) And clicking on my photo's that I like to add a lot of, and editing within them so they contain my URL, a title, a description, an alternative title (not sure why, do it anyway) So Did all of that - all good!
Busy BeeSomeone, I think it was ONMYOWNTERMS pointed me to Google and how you can get loads of your questions answered by using your own initiative and I looked at the Google video of how they run their business which took me to the dreaded Google Webmaster Console jobby - Nightmare.
NightmareI was confused for a very long time about This Indexing Thing, but of course it is essential to your business, so it's important you know about it. I have asked this question several times about submitting your sitemap to Google. Yes - You should - AND I THOUGHT I HAD. But there is a special way to do it.
I have also spent many hours trying to suss out just how to verify my websites and I did that fairly early on. Felt jubilant over it too. So I thought I was sorted with it all - but NO I was not.
The Big important thing I hadn't done and somehow didn't know about it was a certain PLUGIN I had not got. This was because I thought our ALL IN ONE SEO did this job.
The plugin EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE is the GOOGLE XML SITEMAP it is the one with over 1 million users in plugins.
If you do not have this or even know about it watch this short training article by Kyle because it makes a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/setting-u...
In Webmaster when you submit your site map you then just need to type in sitemap.xml into the box and not each and every page and post url from my sites as I thought - and was thinking there must be an easier way. Well That IS the way to do it.
Whenever you are adding stuff to your website, don't forget to go into your ALL IN ONE SEO and update your sitemap - it's just a click of the relevant button - then the message goes over to Webmaster and gets updated.

Hi there, I hope it helps if you do not already have this plug in then get this as well as your social media sharing buttons.
Andi.
Thanks for the heads up Andi, I know the feeling only too well of knowing that something isn't quite right. So like yourself I am about to embark on a full sweep of everything I've done so far and to make sure that I implement everything required before progressing.
Good plan Tommy, thanks for reading my blog. Hopefully, it will all go smoothly for you.
Andi.
Thanks Mike, I am not quite sure how I missed this training in the first place because I don't like to skip over things. Got there conquered that now.
Andi.
Hi Andi, Thanks for clarifying sitemap for me. Sometimes you have to hear things 3 different ways before it clicks.

I am like that all of the time, I am not really a fast learner. I just can't understand why or how I missed something this important. Happy to get there in the end though.
Andi.
Thanks for the training and info...I'm not quite there but should be in a couple of weeks hopefully.
Ah, that's good, try not to forget to add the plugin to your site, it is incredibly simple to do, I just missed it somehow.
I'm glad you sorted it out. I use Yoast Seo and Yoast sitemap instead. It's the best in my opinion. :)
In the future I might have a look at Yoast, I don't want to add any more to my work load right now though. Don't you have to pay for Yoast? I was under the impression that you do.
There is a free and paid version. The free version that I use works great. The paid version just adds a few features. I get what you mean about having enough work. If and when you decide to change, let me know and I'll help.

Thanks much Andi; I find your post very enlightening.
Thanks, I'm pleased you liked it. it was just a bit of a rambling, as I was a bit angry with myself for not having done this at the start of my websites, so if it helps anyone, then that's great.
