What is a disclosure statement
I have just been asked, nicely, to add an FTC disclosure statement on my site and posts by an affiliate partner. Has anyone done this or is it the same as the privacy policy?

No, it protects your from claims, such as you give information regarding health or devices how to use. Can be some others things too. Because doctors, especialy Big Farma are sensitive and can accuse you taking role of experts with diploma. It does not matter if you are doctor too. A lot respectable professionals put disclaimers about that they are not responsible if somebody will be hurt. Customers need to use own minds and ask advices from their doctors or other specialists. In this case you not responsible how fast people will learn here and what they will achieve. A lot people want to be rich just after one week.I was in the same company:) To protect from claims that WA does not work for them , you need to write that they are responsible for their choices and actions.
Hi - it's also to be up front about you perhaps receiving affiliate commission for products you may recommend or review.
You just have to state that your website may be funded/supported by money you make through recommendations, but people will not pay any more for those products if they click your link.
You can check my websites, or any other members site, and look for "affiliate disclosure".
All the best, Mark
Thanks NemiraB. I see that a disclosure statement would be necessary in these circumstances.
Hi Mark. This is exactly my situation. I will add a disclosure to my site. Thanks so much. Christine.
