The Power of Pausing, The Strength of Staying : My Wealthy Affiliate Journey
When I first joined Wealthy Affiliate, I was excited and full of plans. But then life shifted - career changes, the pandemic came, and eventually motherhood. My days became filled with caring for my little one, and suddenly, lessons and websites had to wait.
For a while, I felt guilty for not keeping up, like I was falling behind.
But here’s what I learned: it’s okay to pause.
Even in those quiet seasons, I chose to stay. And I stayed because this community reminded me that progress isn’t always about big leaps. It is about showing up, even if it’s just one small step at a time. Logging in, reading one post, learning one new thing, that was enough to keep me moving.
Wealthy Affiliate showed me that those “small” steps are not small at all. They are seeds of growth. They build belief. And they matter.
And here I am. I’m back, catching up. Thank you, @Kyle, @Carson, and everyone in this community who keeps inspiring and lifting us up. For someone who went through tough times, staying and finding ways every single year to keep my account alive is something very real for me. My journey may be long, but it is moving.
So, to anyone who feels stuck or slowed down by life’s transitions: don’t give up.
Pause if you must, but don’t let go.
Because one day, you’ll see that staying the course, no matter how little you do today, was a powerful decision that shaped your journey.
Small steps still lead to big change.
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” – Confucius

Hey, Ana,
Congratulations for being a mom, a caring one, and for keeping your active even when you thought you were at the end of life. The image is also relevant to this article because it makes me think that after a push down, there's always a pause, when riding a bicycle. That's life, too!
It seems this is my first time to read and comment on your work, and I'm so glad I did. By sharing this comment, I am learning as well, and this is the value of this community. Please keep going and keep sharing your progress and thoughts. You never know how helpful these are to others.

I , can relate to this, I let a website go that was actually generating income, because i became complacent and let life get in the way. Some time at the very end of May beginning of June this year, I snapped out of it and launched a new website and a second one a moth after that Mid July. Went through the training again and thing's are now in motion. Now my issue is patience. The websites are coming out Great but i need to be patient when it comes to getting indexed and ranked. Great post and Great reminder.
Thank You for Posting,
Jason
Hi Ana
Thanks for your blog here. I think you are completely right. I have been here 7+ years as a member, but working on my sites has been an on/off thing, for many years whilst I was doing other things and so-called 'real-life' got in the way. But I've learned so much along the way and enjoyed every step. You can get to the top of the mountain by many routes, and even slide down the to bottom a few times on your journey.
I've been a lot more consistent this year but everyone is different and on their own journey.
Thanks for sharing and your building a business to share with your family.
Gail

Ana, your post really resonated with me.
I was in the same boat about 2–3 years ago. I had to pause my journey here to focus on motherhood. Like you, I also struggled with the guilt of “falling behind,” but I’ve learned that those pauses don’t mean failure; they’re part of the process.
Now that I’m back, I feel even more determined to move forward, and reading your words reminded me why staying connected, even in small ways, makes such a difference.
Thank you for sharing this. It’s so encouraging to know we’re not alone in this journey.
Alice
