About seeing and believing
Every once in a while, someone asks, “What are you grateful for?” For me, one thing that I have always felt most grateful for is my vision. I appreciate how integral being able to see is for my work. More than that, however, I have always reveled in seeing the beautiful world around me, woodlands and wildlife, mountains, ocean vistas, etc., etc. In my “abundant spare time” (a bit of a joke, since there is never time to spare!), I am an artist and love to play with colors, shapes, light.
Recently, my vision became seriously impaired. I completely lost sight in one eye, have had emergency surgery and need to have more surgery. I hope to recover most of my sight, but it will probably never be as good as it was before. I just keep holding on – with all my might – to the belief that things will improve.
I’ve only been a WA member for a couple of months, and have been impressed with the quality and quantity of information provided here, the help and encouragement. WA is really a great resource! Unfortunately, having limited vision means that my ability to work within this medium is also very limited.
I am going to have to terminate my WA membership. I hope to eventually return to WA, once my vision is improved, and resume work on the websites and concepts that I have started developing during the past couple of months. In the meantime, I send words of encouragement to all of your folks here at WA, and wish you success. Keep working at it and take advantage of all the resources offered here, and believe in yourself!
