WA Image Studio #04 of 26: Art Style βBlack & White Filmβ
Some of the art styles are not as obviously differentiated (at least not with this prompt), but this one surely is lol. Love me some black and white!
In Shades of Silver
In a world of black and white and gray,
Where moonlit shadows come to play,
A kitten meets a butterfly
Beneath a star-embroidered sky.
The sunflowers tower, silent guards,
In this garden stripped of color's cardsβ
Yet something bright still fills the scene:
The wonder in those eyes of green.
She tilts her head, that fuzzy sprite,
As wings perform their checkered flight.
Does she see the colors we cannot?
In this monochrome-enchanted spot?
Perhaps in dreams where kittens go,
The clover blooms in emerald glow,
The butterfly burns orange and blue,
And silver moonlight turns to dew.
But here and now, in shades of night,
She's mesmerized by dancing lightβ
A little shadow, soft and small,
Who needs no color to have it all.

In this series of posts, I am experimenting with the different βArt Stylesβ that are available in the first version of Image Studio which was launched within Wealthy Affiliate in early November. This is a very exciting addition to the Wealthy Affiliate platform, which opens up a host of opportunities for us members in our affiliate and other businesses. π
For this purpose, I am using the same exact prompt each time (image ratio of 1:1) and no Reference Image, so as to have as pure a comparison as possible.
At the start of this series, there are 25 styles (26, including βNoneβ).

Good morning, Amber.
I once saw a photograph done by someone that specializes in black and white photos.
It was of a male and a female lion that had been together almost twenty years if I remember correctly.
They were lying so that their heads were touching as they had already turned to each other with their eyes closed.
I could literally feel the love for each other that hey shared. It made me think of my parents.
:D
JD
Good morning JD,
Wow, that sounds so lovely! And sweet that it reminds you of your parents.
I love black and white photography (not that I *do* it, I just love it). I know now we can just apply a filter to anything, but it is more nuanced than that.
I remember many years back, when I was taking an online course in Photoshop, we had to create a poster as an assignment, like an advertisement or something, specific to a color scheme.
One very important thing that was mentioned in that assignment, and I will never forget, is the rule that "if it doesn't look good in black and white, it won't look good in color."
Most people probably wouldn't pull that out visually when looking at the color image, or they might just not understand what isn't quite sitting right--but there is a whole depth in black and white beyond just the duality. I mean, I'm not even saying *I* could figure it out if I didn't create it, but I know it's a thing.
Thank you :)
Amber
I am glad you like it, Amber.
I believe I understand what you are talking about. I have at times enjoyed taking black and white pictures I print out and coloring them with map colors. Oops, showing my age, I think. I meant colored pencils. ;)
JD
haha I will have to look up "map colors," this is the first I have heard that π. But, yes, that is some of the fun of black and white images--you can color them in with any color you like. Or maybe I should say "Any Colour You Like" πΆ (lol that is beyond my age, I just happen to know of it.)

Map colors is what we called them 50 odd years ago in school.
JD
I am totally envisioning coloring in maps of Mesopotamia π
I have used them to color maps for roleplaying games.
So, yeah. :D
