Dory Had it Right, Just Keep "Swimming"
As a mom to a young child, my movie options are quite limited. Usually, the movie is animated and typically a Disney movie or more specifically, a Pixar movie.
This means I have pretty much seen all of the Pixar movies multiple times. Never watch The Incredibles or Cars with me as I can quote both movies in their entirety.
But I digress.
So, when my daughter wanted to watch a movie much earlier tonight, it was really a matter of which Pixar movie she was going to choose, although sometimes she does surprise me.
She chose Finding Nemo. A cute movie about a clownfish named Nemo, who ends up getting taken by a Scuba Diver, and his dad Marlin, has to cross the ocean to rescue him.
On the way, Marlin meets a Pacific Blue Tang fish, (see cover photo for a picture of this kind of fish), named Dory. She suffers from short-term memory loss.
You may be thinking, "Amanda, this all fine and dandy, but how the heck does this relate to business?" Don't worry I'm getting there.
At one point in the movie, Dory and Marlin find themselves in the deep part of the ocean, where there isn't a whole lot, except for some pretty scary fish and other things.
Dory tells Marlin that they need to just keep swimming (or rather she sings about it) and they will find their way out of this pitch-black part of the ocean, so they can carry on in their journey to find Nemo. Now to keep swimming becomes super important when they are pursued by an anglerfish. (Talk about a scary fish. Yikes.)
And so they just keep swimming.
And in our businesses, we need to just keep "swimming", to keep going, no matter what.
(See we made it to the point. A little corny or maybe a lot corny? Yes. Less true? No.)
No matter at what point you are in your online business journey here at WA, you need to keep "swimming," to not give up, although it may feel easier too.
It's not easy to keep "swimming", especially if you aren't seeing the kind of results that you are wanting and possibly in a quicker time frame than has happened.
It's not easy to keep "swimming" if you don't have the support of family and/or friends. Or much support.
It's not easy to keep "swimming" when this whole online business thing is new so it seems a bit foreign and a whole lot overwhelming. Or maybe it is not that new, but still feels overwhelming and possibly foreign.
It's not easy to keep "swimming" when there are so many other things going on in your life. Maybe you have circumstances that make it more of a challenge to create a thriving business and then keep it afloat. (I know I do.)
If you don't keep "swimming," then success can't possibly happen. You stopped before you allowed it to have a chance to appear. It could have been right around the corner, and you wouldn't have known or been there to greet it.
And even if it takes longer to see results, you will learn so much along the way, not just about business, but about life, and about yourself. About your courage in the face of struggles and difficulty. About your tenacity, perseverance, and persistence. About your willingness to fight for your dreams to improve your life.
Dory had it right, just keep "swimming," just keep fighting, just keep learning, just keep trying, just keep evolving, just keep growing, just keep going.
Because if you stop, you will never know what might have been if you had held on just a little bit longer.
So, just. keep. "swimming".

You are right Amanda - you jut have to keep swimming, great analogy with Finding Nemo and relating it to our WA business.
It is difficult at times but by pushing through you also develop a stronger character and willpower. It is a journey and we learn a lot along the way. So we keep "swimming".
Thank you for sharing.
You're right Helen. It's like they say, it's about the journey more than the destination. Although it is nice to get to the destination. But if we are so focused on getting to the destination, we miss out on the journey along the way.
Awesome ;)
I've never watched Finding Nemo but I've heard about it :)
It is a very good analogy in our online business
Whatever our circumstances, situation, hurdles or hiccups
The one thing we should be we stop doing is moving forward
As long as we continue to move, we will all achieve our goals
Well, good thing I didn't give away any spoilers. ;)
Yes, you're exactly right. I think another thing that is important to mention is it doesn't matter how slowly you go. There are times when it is easier to move faster and then other times when the only thing you can do for that day is to come up with a blog post title. Which might not feel like progress, but you kept moving forward.

Thank you Jeff! It's amazing what can relate to business if you look hard or deep enough.
