It's a Marathon!
So....I just celebrated my 40th Birthday last week! Party!
And now, I feel so much older and wiser :) LOL.
But, actually, I think birthdays can be turning points and times for reflections. The Big Four Oh was for me anyway.
For example, my new motto for goals going forward is "It's a marathon, not a sprint."
How often do you get all excited about a new endeavor or goal, only to burn bright and then burn out shortly after beginning? I'm totally guilty of that...from WA, to weight loss, to a new task at work. And to me, that's a sprint.
After joining WA in mid-December 2015, I started a sprint. And I burned out fast. So, I took a small breather for a week or two and re-grouped. Now, I'm in it for the long haul with a lot more balance and perspective about this journey. Sustained success won't happen over night. But, if I chip away at this goal consistently every day, I will get there. And so will you!
Sadly, I can't remember the source of this idea, but I'll share it anyway...as long as you don't have a time line for success, you can never fail, as long as you are always pursuing the goal and improving your approach. That's not to say you shouldn't have short-term and mid-term milestones along the way. Personally, I've found it relieves a lot of mental and emotional stress and frees my energies to consistently chip away at the goal, rather than wonder..."am I going to make it?" or "when am I going to get there?" or "what happens if I don't get there in a year?"
Here's to consistency and long-term vision! May you run your marathon well and cross the finish line in your own time!

Great insight! I did the same sprint when joining WA in January. It's a good reminder to take a step back.
Thanks for the reminder.
Oh, and by the way, welcome to the 40 club :-)
Great blog Alyssa, I enjoyed reading through it, I hope you had a great birthday! Keep up the hard work :)
Happy Birthday Alyssa. I turned 50 last August and found with a recent Bachelors degree from an adult program I was going to need to 're-invent' myself. I am still trying to figure out how to do this with WA as well as delving into becoming a final expense 'expert!'
I have been way off base the past month with building up my website. I have several pages that need the 'reviews' completed and also the products pages so that i can actually encourage others to try some of the things that I have already tried.
When I got started originally I just kept my blinders on and worked diligently for about three weeks getting through the training....I didn't do any networking on WA....I wanted to get "things working to make money;" can you relate?
How did you get your ranking at 253 in just four months? What is your area of expertise? Would you take a look at my website and comment? You can find my work at diynubrilliance.com
Hoping to get some work done today.....YEAH!!!!!!
