Ask For What You Want! You just might get it!
This success story just set the tone for my whole day!
About two weeks ago, Cruise Direct finally replied to my Affiliate Application. DENIED.
Seriously?
Boy was I hot. And disappointed. And completely in the dark. They provided no explanation, no email. I think it was just a status update in the affiliate network program.
Before complaining to my husband, a retired Warrant Officer, I formulated a plan. You see, when we first met 8 years ago, he instilled in me a "pick yourself up by the bootstraps" mentality. There is no "woe is me" around here. If you don't like something, make a plan and fix it!
I sent an email to Cruise Direct's affiliate prgram POC. In that email I:1. Described my business.
2. Explained why I thought Cruise Direct would be a good fit.
3. Asked why my application had been denied.
4. Asked what, if anything, I could do to change their minds.
Drum roll please....
Cruise Direct emailed me back and said that they pushed an invitation for me to join the program! And they wanted to make sure I had everything I needed to get started as an affiliate.
Big Takeaway
If you want something, ask for it. People can't read your mind. They don't know what you want, why its important, or how it would make a difference to you. Ask and persist. It sure beats waiting for what you want to come to you. And it sure feels better than taking "no" for an answer!
Awesome. Love it.
Have a fabulous day WA Family.
