Checklist for Creating Great New Affiliate WordPress Sites
- Choose Topic - research with JAAXY or KEYWORD TOOL to find a great niche with the magic amount of interest (more than 50 monthly searches, less than 200 QSR / under 100 is better, with a keyword phrase that naturally makes sense)
- Purchase Custom Domain Name - I like NameSilo.com for it's simplicity and .com domains that cost around $9 USD
- After registering the domains, change the nameservers to point to Wealthy Affiliate
- Name Server 1: ns1.mywahosting.com
- Name Server 2: ns2.mywahosting.com
- All other Name Servers should be blank
- Allow up to 30 minutes for these changes to take effect
- Click the "Build a New Website" button
- Click "Domain I Own"
- Enter domain URL and title
- Choose a theme (this can be changed later)
- Click button to build your website!
- GMAIL settings
- General
- turn OFF conversation view
- My Picture - add photo to profile
- Add signature with Mailbox / site name
- Undo Send (enable)
- Inbox
- set all mail to go to only 1 inbox (Primary), uncheck "Social" and "Promotions"
- Accounts & Import
- change Send Mail As to a readable name (can also specify a different "reply to" address here)
- Labs
- Mark as Read button (enable)
- General
- ANALYTICS (get UA Tracking ID# and Add to "Google Settings" in All in One SEO General Settings)
- SEARCH CONSOLE
- add tracking code inside <head> </head> tags to the sites "theme header" (Appearance / Editor within wordpress) then VERIFY
- submit Sitemap.xml file to Search Console (make sure this is enabled in All in One SEO plugin)
- GOOGLE PLUS - click initial area to change / update the default photo
- Site Theme
- will need to initially choose one to start building your page, but this can be changed at any time (even after you have added tons of content)
- many free themes are available within Wealthy Affiliate but it can be challenging to search through them and time consuming to test them out - some favorite freebies:

- brief concept intro (this should be at top of site and no more than 2-3 sentences)
- photos (original or images with permission
- Email(s) Setup
- Create custom domain-specific email forwarding accounts (send to the gmail / google account created in Step 4) within Wealthy Affiliate (see "Site Email" section) so that readers can contact you via your custom domain

- General Settings / Google / Exclude Users from Tracking: Administrator
