Lost it for some time but found it now!

I kind lost my momentum for some time, weeks in fact due to heavy workload and extra stress at work. It totally drains me of energy everyday, demotivated, all I want to do everyday was to crawl in bed once I get home. Not to mention binge eating on junk food when I keep telling myself I need to stay healthy and exercise more.

One month down the road and I have not even exercised once! Unless you count walking about 8000 steps a day exercise. As a result, my site hasn't moved since the last time I touch it and this creates even more stress.

Last week, I ended up downloading a new game on my mobile and got caught up with it. It was my excuse to release stress. Yeah, now I know, it was a lame excuse. I need to refocus my efforts so last Wed, I finished a few lessons here and keep telling myself I need to start posting on my site again.

Guess what? I did today! Had a few ideas on what to post, some procrastination on Sat and finally, today, I made myself do it. Just completed a post with 1643 words - my highest so far.

Now, to keep the momentum going, first thing is to move my mobile games app into a folder, so that I don't pick it up again. Wish me luck!

Would love any advice on how I can keep myself motivate.

Alston.

Hi Alston, motivation can only come from yourself. Finding a balance when you get involved is hard. Interestingly enough motivation focus and energy to do things comes from physical exercise. Even taking 3 minutes each day to mediate helps produce chemicals that will give you focus. Now put those games, go for a five minute walk and get back to work.

Hi Lesabre,
You're right, it needs to come from myself and dedication and focus on what I need to do now, instead of getting side tracked.

Hi Alston, I see your point on a lot of what you say here. I have some tendency to let life or other stuff get in the way.

I have recently sat down with my wife and we have talked out a schedule of my business. We have come up with an agreement so that I am balancing work, family, my website, and other obligations.

It is all determined on how much importance you place on everything in your life. It is just a matter of prioritizing the most important areas.

My job is important, because it currently pays the bills. Family is very important to me, because you cannot get back what you time you lose. My website is important, as it eventually will get me out of my job and will allow more time with my family. Other obligations like the yard and other things related to my house, well that is self explanatory...just can't let that stuff go.

But, you get my point. I wish you well and hope you find the balance you need.

Hi Bob,

Thanks, this is very useful. You're right that we need to get our priorities right. Family is definitely important to me, so is my current job as you rightly say - its helping to pay the bills. Need to focus on the ultimate goal!

Alston

That is usually where we need to go with our businesses (ie our websites). Wishing you well again

Hi Nichola,
Thanks for your advice. Yes, will definitely have to come up with a schedule and stick to it. Stop giving excuses as well :)

You are welcome! You have to know what matters in your life and what does not. All the best to you!

Hi Alston,

You seem to be stepping in the right direction. Just keeping doing what you are doing! Take time to exercise, eat and sleep well and just keep posting to your website. Make a schedule and stick to it daily.

Much success to you!

Kind regards,
Nichola
