Question - better google ranking vs. others

Hey friends,
I investigated which affiliate partner works best in Germany for us considering our niche and blogs. Then I read an article about google and that they doesn't like direct links e.g. to Amazon but prefer subdomains of large affiliate networks where you can buy their products. Does anybody has experience and may give a recommendation how to handle this?
