Published on Wealthy Affiliate — a platform for building real online businesses with modern training and AI.
Back in 2015 when I first joined Wealthy Affiliate, my goals were very ambitious to complete the training, build my website, interact in the WA community and bring in tons of referrals. So I set off on a blazing trail.
However, an expectied obstacle occured along the way.
A snag along the road that invoked such thoughts as::
- "Come on, I should be so much further along than this."
- "I'm so far behind, i'll never catch-up."
- "Oh boy, it's taking me sooooo long to finish this training. What's my problem?"
- "Maybe I should quit. I'm not earning as much as I expected.".
What prompted these thoughts?
Well, I can think of two culprits.....
Uncompromising Expectations
Somehow, in my mind, if didn't meet the timelines and goals I had set for myself, this meant "FAILURE!."
Because I was so relentless towards my expected performance, I became a victim to my own condemnation..
Not once did anyone here at Wealthy Affiliate discourage me. My sponsor has always been and is still there for me.
The guilty verdict came from no other voice but my own. That's it!

Comparison to Others
Gulp! Yes, I admit to comparing myself to others. Upon endeavoring on a deep look inside myself, the admisson soon came forth, "I'm comparing myself to others!"
Witnessing members, especially those with less time at WA than myself, building sites, posting their success and moving ahead, poured more fuel on the fire of self-condemnation.
However, I have good news!
With this discovery and admission, I sson set myself free!.
