My Progress So Far

Progress.....

I think I went Premium about 3 weeks ago. It seems much longer. In fact, it seems like several months. In that time I created a website and then changed from Rubix to.com after purchasing a domain name. I posted my first blog but it had no pictures because I did not know how to upload images. I then set about learning how to add illustrations. I did not really know about Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions but I set out to find out!

A Second Blog Post.

That was the next step. Oh, I was continuing with the training alongside the blogging and messaging all those people who were kind enough to follow me. Some of those people liked my comments which was really nice. This appeared to improve my ranking, too. But it was slow progress. There did not seem to be much time for what I considered to be "the bread and butter" process of article writing. The second blog post then appeared and I seemed to have got a better hang of the pictures. They are so important as they break up the solid text which is off-putting to so many people in this quick sound bite age. It was a review of my book. "A Cat Has Nine Lives". Is this spamming? I am not very clear on these rules.

Google Analytics

Now, this was fun when I got attached to this. I could see who was looking at my website. I was told that Google had picked it up. Of course, they had otherwise I would see nothing on Analytics. Jaaxy told me I was one page 1 of Bing and Yahoo but that didn't last long. I have no idea what happened there. Anyway, last Saturday was a bumper day as 15 people looked at the site. A bunch came from France and the Ukraine. I have no idea why!.

Third Blog.

I wrote the third blog at the beginning of this week. It was a struggle. and took ages. I made a huge error in the settings for uploading images and couldn't. It took a couple of hours to figure out why. I also found that the recommended free sites like Shuttlecock were not always free. Anyway I published the article on the dangers of sugar. (Can I mention the title of the blog here?) I also went to I-Herb to become approved as an affiliate. I have not heard back so don't know if this has been successful or not. They pay 5% of supplement sales which is not very attractive but I regard this first website as a testing space, so it doesn't really matter. Oh, I also set up an e-mail account linked to my website. It is supposed to send material to my main e-mail, but again it doesn't. Thus, I set up another which works. For the life of me I can't get Wordpress to add me by name as an Administrator.. Life is not exactly a bowl of fruit but it's a great learning experience. There I have done what I was asked as the next task in my training!

Excellent post. Sounds like you are doing great Alister. Just keep moving forward.

Hello, Allister.
First of all let me say that you are making good and steady progress.
To change your admin name, if you only have one administrator you cannot alter the name. You have to add a second administrator with the name you want. Then you can delete the original admin, leaving just the new one. Bear in mind you will have to change your login to the new admin name.
I advise against using your own name for an administrator as this makes it easy to guess for hackers. Use a nickname that also involves some numbers.
I hope this helps,
Steve.

I sounds like you are doing just fine Alister. We all had to go through those growing pains. You are doing a very good job of figuring things out and being ahead in your training. Don't be disheartened, the training will end soon enough. We are all here to help you if you run into any problems.

You are going through the process. Yes, the first three weeks can seem like months, because you have so much to learn. You will get it figured out.

I do wish someone would invent something that would allow us to ingest a whole bunch of information all at once, so we didn't learn things one piece at a time and then have to go back and add to what we have already done. I had to do that with meta title and meta description...started at page one and did them all at once. And don't forget alt text. You have to get it on that image, too...and, yes, I, too, learned the dangers of thinking all images were free...shuttlecock almost got me, too!

Good luck going forward. It's a great journey, though a bit bumpy at times.

Alister, after many years of trying to create an income yoiur sentiments hit me hard, you sound to mhave made a great start and your progressing well. best wishes.

I've only been doing this since Feb 28, so I'm with you. It feels more like a year than a month. But I keep plugging along. Keep up the good work! RhondaLeigh

Thats awesome, Alister. Consistence & Persistence are the two keywords to success in most any endeavor and you are doing it - just continue on that path.
Great job!

Alister, you are doing great. The training, in the beginning, you may need to watch several times, It will certainly get easier the more you do, but you have made great progress so far. Stay consistent as you have been doing.
Look forward to your next post.
Bil

Awesome update Alister. How great that you already have visitors to your site. You might find the question bar at the top of the page useful....just keep putting in words until the dropdowns give you something that looks like it might help...chances are someone has already asked the same question.
Keep on with the great work. Be well.

Hey Alister,

This is good progress. Keep pressing on. Wishing you all the best!
