7 Month At WA

So 7 months in and I'm really proud of the progress I have made so far. I have a fully functioning website, which has expanded into directions that I could not have imagined when I first started here at WA.

www.valitrader.com

Motivation has been pretty consistent along the way, despite little success in financial terms, but the skills I have gained over my time here are hard to put a price on. Thus far I have had one affiliate sale, which was about two months ago, nothing since however. What I have seen though is that I now have consistent traffic to my site every day(450-600 per month), which has only really just picked up in the last few weeks. I attribute this primarily to the addition of a site map through Google Console. Although I didn't realise it for about the first 6 months here at WA, the site map is so important, and has been the single biggest positive impact to my site, like almost immediate. I also found a really handy tool for checking where my site ranks for all my keywords - http://www.whatsmyserp.com/serpcheck.php instead of doing them manually.

Probably the biggest issue I have had over my time has been with my niche itself. My niche, which is trading foreign exchange, commodities, and indices, is littered with scams as I'm sure others are as well, which I knew when I first started out. I felt that the only way I could really get people to trust me was if I actually used everything that I reviewed, which made sense anyway, but has proven very time consuming and expensive. As a result, even after 7 months, I don't have that many product reviews on my site. A lot of adds, but not many reviews. Doing things this way is starting to bare fruit though, as my audience trusts me a lot more as someone speaking from experience and not speculation.

The challenge now is finding products that already have a buzz associated with them, and ride that wave, rather than trying to create a buzz from scratch at this early stage. It's all about risk to reward, and the best return on time invested, especially when one review can take months. Is anybody experiencing a similar situation.

My goal at the start of the year was to have the site producing $3000 per month by the end of the year. I'm not exactly on target to achieve that at this point but will keep pushing for it.

My goal for the next 3 months is to target another 30 keywords, and over the next 6 months, another 60 keywords taking my total article count to 110. Whilst I have a social media presence, particularly on G+, which I have found to be excellent at getting front page rankings for many of my posts, my main form of marketing will continue to be SEO.

7 months ago I never would have expected that I would have what I have now, so who knows what the next 6 months will bring. Keep grinding everybody.

Cheers,

Adam
