Turning Disappointment into Action!
Unfortunately when I applied to Amazon Affiliates program I was turned down. I was so upset and thought about giving up, but I had to take a hard look at my website! When I was turned down I only had 2 blog posts and I needed more content. I mean I had/have some great ideas but I need to implement them before I can go any further.
SO instead of moping and being sad about it; I am turning my disappointment in myself into action! I have since added a blog post and I am working on 3 top 10 lists and more blog posts. I am going to add value to my niche and later this week I will apply again!
If any of you have some time, I would love to hear your thoughts on my website. I want to improve and I welcome constructive criticism. Likewise, if you have any ideas how I can add valuable content, other than blog posts and my top 10 lists, please let me know! :)

Hi Anna
Well done for getting your site off the ground.
First impression. Personally I am not mad on the white font on black - it's one of the hardest to read and as such isn't recommended (I know it's popular with gaming sites!)
I'm sorry that you got turned down my Amazon - you are right to keep going and plod on. You need to do something about your homepage or I think you will get turned down again (I could be wrong).
As it is your homepage adds no value whatsoever to the reader. I know it isn't the case but it looks like you couldn't be bothered. Just telling readers to 'look around' isn't helpful. If this is the page people land on - what do they get, what do they need to know? What can they find out?
If you don't want a static homepage - then you need to have your blogs running on your homepage - so it shows that the site is constantly being updated without anyone having to search.
I hope that helps
Good luck
Beverley
Hi Beverley,
Thank you for commenting.
I will work on my homepage and see what I can do about the font colors and the background.
Thanks!

Hi. Left you a comment. Great job on getting going and it looks like you should be able to create a great gaming site.
I agree with Beverley that the white on black makes it more difficult to read. You do need more content on your home page and maybe jazz it up with a gamer type of image. Here's a link to other affiliate programs that has been recommended here (I'm not associated) http://mthink.com/affiliate/
Great motivation, you will do well.
Thank you for the comment and I will work on my homepage and see what I can do about the font color.
It's not the font colour alone. It's the combination of white font on black background. That's why the majority of sites are white background with black font because it's easy on the eye.
I get that... I just looked at other gaming sites and noticed that this color combo was common among the majority of them... I will look into changing it.
