Curious as to everyones business routine?
Hey everyone, just thought I'd do this blog as I believe it will benefit everyone who participates!
When I first started (sometimes even now) I wanted to work on my online business so bad, I was hyped, I turned the tv off, turns off all notifications so I wouldn't get distracted, was all ready to go, then I realised I had no idea what to do.. do I post to social media? I already did that, don't want to seem like a spammer... should I write another blog post? .. I've already written one today.. what else can I do to build my brand and help take my business to the next level?
I am curious as to what everyone does with their day (in regards to their business) and how it plays out in your day, do you get up early and do 2 hours of blog posting, then 1 hour of social media then thats it for the day? Do you do it all after your day job? Do you split it, blog posts in the morning, social media in the afternoon?
Perhaps there is still something that I am missing that I should be doing that everyone else is, perhaps I missed the memo lol, but these are the things I do. I normally do 1 hour of blog posting in the morning, 30 minutes of social media posting then after my day job I spend 1 hour on my email marketing and thats it for the day.

I try to write a blog post per day. I spend a lot of time reading blogs pertaining to my niche to get inspiration for my next post
Awesome! Nathaniell has a fantastic training on getting inspiration for blog post ideas, you can literally come up with hundreds in 1 hour using the alphabet soup technique.
First you use the WA keyword tool and come up with say 5 keywords, you then use alphabet soup technique in good and boom there are all your keywords.
Example
Keyword "babies got back" lol random.. first thing that popped into my mind
Alphabet soup:
A babies got back
Black babies got back
Candy coated babies got back
Dyslexic babies got back
Elephant man babies got back
Fire man babies got back
Then you do the same but you add the letter at the end of the keyword e.g.:
Babies got back airplane
Babies got back backpack
Babies got back car ride
Babies got back dinosaur
Lol these are all terrible examples but you get my drift, so after just one keyword you could possible have 50 or so new keywords to write about, a lot will be similar keywords but you can break the topic down and take it 3 new directions
Example on one of mine
Weight loss diet dinner
Weight loss diet non veg
Weight loss diet low carb
These could ALL be the same subject but I decided to break them down and make one into a post on healthy breakfast, one on dinner and one on lunch, obviously you spice them up a little but you get the idea :)
Thanks for this. When I first began my site I used to use the alphabet soup technique a lot, now I just use jaaxy but I am going to start using the alphabet soup technique again. Thanks so much for this great reminder!
I don't write nearly enough blog posts (my goal right now is to publish one post a week). I get caught up in the blog posts and trainings offered by WA members.
I am fortunate that I have about 4-5 hours to spend on my site every day while my kids are at school. It also takes me easily 4-6 hours to write a post (that includes finding and editing pictures, research, and final edits of the post).
I try to post to social media everyday, but I also don't want to seem like a spammer.
Haha yeah it is hard and thank you for taking the time to post on this blog post, I see 8 likes and 1 comment lol..
My thoughts on blog posts are write them, get the content out there, then perfect them later. I could spend all year perfecting one post lol.
It's funny when I first began I was a little nervous and wrote a few posts, after I had 40 or so under my belt I went back and decided to have a look and re-write some of my old posts ... man were they bad haha, it's great though because I can see that I am learning new skills and techniques and improving on every post I write so that's great.
I think the best thing to do with social media and blog posts is not to be scared to try something new, if it fails then who cares, try something different until it does work.
I am in management at my day job and I use this all the time, I fail more than anyone because all my works play it safe lol, they do what is required where as I think outside of the box and create a unique environment, this has lead to an increase in gross profit by 10% per week, I'm going to do the same with my business, keep working on it and trying new things until they all work :).
I am definitely trying more than I did when I first got started. I have also gone back and looked at my first few posts and pages (I thought they were great at the time), but they needed some changes. I now have a writing style that I use in all posts whereas at the start I was still trying to figure this out.
I think now that I know how I want an article to be written I try to get it right the first time because I don't want to feel like I have to go back to all articles once they are published.
But I see your point about just getting the content out there.
That's true, I believe we all evolve anyway and we never stay static, so what you consider perfect today, might be rubbish tomorrow.
I recently (last night) watched a workshop on copywriting, instantly changed how I write posts, now that are a lot better, a lot easier to read and captivate even me while I'm writing it lol.
Definitely something you should look into.
It is a powerful tool when used right :).
Lol it's been taken down which annoys me, one of those "watch it now or miss out forever - or pay for it later" jobs.
I watched half of it and got so much valuable information then I paused it and had to go to bed as I was falling asleep.
It was from Anik Singal (I think that's how you spell his last name) , he puts out so much valuable content on email marketing and copywriting and lots of different stuff. his site is www.lurn.com check it out :)
Hi,
That's too bad that you didn't get to watch it. I haven't heard of Anik Singal. Sure, if you don't mind sending me your notes, that would be great!
