Hello everyone!
My chosen niche is 'wood joinery tools'.
What are your thoughts on the domain name joinerycorner.com and it's relevance to my niche?
Do you
This is a tough one because I'm sure a lot of people don't know what joinery means. However, you are trying to reach an audience that would know about items made from wood, so they should "get" your domain.
I keep having to remember that it isn't your website domain name that is going to be the big thing that gets you ranked. It will be your content that will matter the most, so for that reason, I would have to say that your domain name would be fine as it is. :)
Hi Michelle and thanks for the helpful reply,I appreciate it. You've got me thinking when you say that not many people may not know what joinery means. I'll look into that. Like you said it's the content that will matter the most, so I'll have to do plenty of research for that!
I think it works fine and am certainly interested in checking it out when you have it up and running.
ROCK ON!

Hello everyone!
I haven't purchased a domain name yet, but I am in the process of doing so. I would appreciate the answers to a lot of questions below, which would reall
No need to check the search engines. Using a name registrar like Go Daddy or Namecheap just to name a few will let you know if the name is available.
The dot com may have already have been bought but other extensions may be available, such as .org or .net.
However you always want to try and get a .com first.
Copyright infringement would be using a company name or trademarked name in your domain name, so for example you cannot have
www.myNHLwebsite.com
As soon as you buy the domain name you can use it right away, it's yours now. Like real estate but only you're online.
I also did a few posts about domain names that may help you The Perfect Domain Name The Radio Test For Your Domain Name
Hi leoemery and thanks for the reply. This is all very useful information that I need to help me proceed. I will also take a look at your posts , I know they will also help me.
Hey there!
You can check to see if a domain name is available at Namecheap. Kyle has a tutorial about buying domain names here: Your Own Domain, Your Brand.TRAFFIC If you follow that training, you should be fine. If the domains that come up in the search say "Make Offer" next to them, that means they're taken already. You shouldn't have to pay anymore than about $12 for your domain per year.
Also, if you're domain is available to purchase, you could google the name of what your business will be to see if there are other businesses with a trademark to that name. For example, you wouldn't want to purchase a domain name that makes it look like you're "Google" etc.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions.
Bryan
Thanks for the reply Bryan.
It really does help me and points me in the right direction. It was a case of not being sure and not wanting to get any surprises later on, because I'm new to this.
head over to namecheap.com you can search possible domain names. Anything copyrighted can't be registered as a domain name. Example, bestNFLfootballs.com
You don't need to check. If you went to namecheap and its available then by all means purchase it. If they don't have the .com available you might want to try a different name. All depends on what you want really.
Thanks for replying Matt. That's helped me a lot.
Does that mean I'm good to go, or would you recommend that I also do a check on the search engines to see if no one else is using it?

Hi everyone!
Please let me know which one of the niches below will work best and if they are 'niche' enough as opposed to too broad. These are my interests/hobbies:-
<If your niche is carpentry then I think those would be great sub-niches/topics.
Depending on your free time and writing ability consider doing a blog that covers all three and start with #3 since that one seems to be your favorite. You want a topic that your going to have tons and tons of fresh content and perspective about, that's why I would start with #3.
Hi Perspective! Thanks for replying, it's really helped me and I appreciate it.
You're right, it seems like #3 is the best starting point, due to the reasons you mentioned. I definitely need the content that there is for #3.
Success to you.

Hi Kendra, and thank you so much for responding. Knowing this now has been very helpful to me, so that I can move forward.
Much appreciated & wishing you success here at WA.
To get the full benefits of the Jaaxy account you will have to upgrade to the enterprise account. Note that you can also use the keyword tool on WA. The instructions on how to interpret the results on the WA keyword tool are in Course 2 - Lesson 7 of 10 (Low hanging fruit).
I would start buy using the free search on WA and then use your free Jaaxy searches when you get deeper into your page development.
I hope that helps,
Kendra

I think it works. If I searched for a site like yours, as I have in the past, I would definitely click your link. Great name!
Hi Kerrcom, thanks for replying. I'm glad you like the name and that you would click on the link. That's given me another reason to go ahead with it.
