Hi Folks,

I have got my Ad code from Google AdSense and have watched a number of blogs explaining where to insert the code. However, the blogs all vary.

Could you

Thanks for all your kind responses to my question.

I inserted the code in to the HEADER section just underneath the previous AdSense verification code that I was given.

This new code is the one to get Autoads started on my site.

I'm terrible at this computer stuff LOL.

Just hope that I have done it right.

Cheers,

Adam :-)

Great!

I´m not sure if the autoads code was supposed to be in the body section, though. To be honest, I tried both the head and body section... And ended up getting ads to my site successfully.

If the ads won't start showing, try the body section. The plugin is useful for that, if you can't find the section on your code.

Thank you.

I assume it will take a good while before the Ads show up?

I will wait patiently in great hope LOL

Cheers,

Adam :-)

You´re welcome!

It did take a while to show on my whole site. I also added an ad code to my sidebar widget, and that started showing immediately.

But it took several hours for ads to show on different parts of my site, and the auto ads code is what makes that happen. So, I would say you´ll need to wait patiently. :)

Hi Adam,

You'll need to use a plugin for adding your code to the header section of your website.

On the left hand side menu under your Dashboard, hover your mouse over the "Plugins" section and select "Add New".

In the next screen, which is titled "Add Plugins", you will see a search box on the right hand side -in the search box, type the words "Insert header" and the search results will return some plugins that will allow you to insert the code. You will need to pick one of these that works best with your website.

Once you select a plugin, click on the "Install" button. This will install the plugin for your website.

Once the plugin is installed, you can locate it in your website Dashboard on the left hand side by hovering your mouse over settings - it will open up another side menu where you should see the name of the plugin you installed. When you click on that, it will take you to a new window that will allow you to paste the AdSense code into and save it. You want to past your adsense code into the Header section.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you so much :-)

Hi - the easiest way is to install the "insert headers and footers" plugin. Once activated, you will see two boxes. Paste the code in the top box, the header box.

You won't see any changes on your site. The code simply allows Google to inspect your site to see if it is suitable.

I got the idea he wanted to add the actual ad code? I'm not sure. If it´s the site verification code, the head section is the right place. But you can also use the same plugin to insert the actual code to display ads on your site. I used the plugin for both.

I just added my code today. :) I can't add anything in the code of my website directly, too technical. If you´re the same, I recommend a WP plugin called Insert headers and footers.

With that plugin, you can insert code to the head and body section of your website just using a simple form. You can also add the AdSense code! That´s what I did. I got the idea the body section is the right place for the code, and that´s where I put it using the plugin.

I can't open the training videos directly on the WA site. It did start opening them in a separate window but doesn't even do that now.

Not sure what's happened as it was

Close everything and start all over again. If this doesn’t work, restart your computer.
Tom

Thanks Tom, I will give that a bash.

Cheers,

Adam :-)

You’re welcome Adam, anytime!
