Rest, recap and research really helps.

So I started really well. I am familiar with WordPress so getting the basics of my first FREE website together progressed quite quickly. In fact i was 'smashing' it! I did the whole intro and was on about day 3 of the Affiliate Bootcamp after only a couple of days... and then I had to stop to do some other, contract, work.

So I took a break for a couple of days, which turned into a few because of the weekend (during which my sons soccer team won the U18 Victorian state premiership... I might add... as a proud dad) and didn't have time to commit to my WA project. It was interesting how much of the learning was still going through my head during that time. Probably because I had soaked up so much in such a short time my mind was now taking time to process it.

I had already written a few articles and I came back, got back to the tutorial, all fired up, clicked the next lesson... and it told me to take a day off! But I just had! Anyway, I kind of stuck with the program and decided I'd use my day-off to recap on some of the things I had learned before. I already had a niche worked out as I have had my own website for some time. But there were some key things I needed to go over.

Keywords were a big issue for me. So I did a lot of research through WA for answers. After reading a few lessons, articles and posts I began to figure out a method of finding them for myself. For the record, at this point I decided to sign up for the WA "1-month discount" and the "FREE 30 Searches" Jaaxy search tool, just so that I had access to all the tools.

So my process began like this... Open Google... "it is your friend" :P With your niche in mind type something like "How to" and then the letter "a". See if any of the suggestions relate to your niche... Delete the "a" and type a "b"... see what comes up. Simply go through the alphabet and see if you find anything that relates to your niche. Google gives you some clues this way.

You may need to change "How to" to something else like "How can" and re-do the process. Sometimes things pop up like "How can I" so you can add that and enter "How can I a" and go through the process. It can be quite revealing.

When you find something put it in the Keyword Tool first. This will give you first impression numbers. Save any good keywords you find around it. Then go to Jaaxy and put it in and you will get more data and suggestions. Save whatever you can (limited in free mode). Now you have some great keywords around a common theme.

This actually took me a few days "OFF" to get to grips with but I now feel comfortable with the way I am identifying my keywords. It also gave me time to reflect on my existing website (not the FREE one I made at WA) and I decided I could rebuild it better with my new keywords. So now I also had a "to-do" list.

It is amazing how much you can learn here, even when you are already experienced :).

As for the formatting, there have been blips in the system lately so try again later and it may work :).

Why didn't my formatting work on this :(
