So as of today it has become apparent to me that the web and this site is filled with info! No brainer right? Well as I am on this journey to discover just exactly how I want to position myself in this market I seem to be acquiring a lot of info. I almost feel like Pac Man as I race along gobbling up all the knowledge trying to get to a finish line. At times it can get quit overwhelming as I try to catalog it all. I have files upon files upon files. Yes, I have become the dreaded information hoarder. Some people hoard clothes, shoes, items, etc. I hoard information. I find myself surfing the web downloading and saving and copying information at all hours of the day. I could be innocently going onto the web to look something up and invariably I find myself off on rabbit trails. It has become like an illness.
I can picture myself now going to the doctor. "Yes Ms. and what seems to be your problem today?"
"Doctor," I say, "I suffer from information hoarder syndrome. Can you help me?"
"Well Ms., there is only one cure that I know of for that."
"What doctor, I'll do anything?"
The Doctor replies, "You must stop searching on the internet."

"But Doctor," I say, "That's like asking me to stop eating. I can't do that. It calls to me and beckons me. It says, "Resistance is futile you must assimilate me." I can't possibly resist the search for answers. My mind cries out search, search, search!"
"Well Ms.," the Doctor interjects in the middle of my tangent, " I can't possibly help you as this information acquisition is so ingrained you will never be able to quit."
"So you're saying that I'm terminal Doctor?"
"Yes Ms., you are terminal."
How did my terminal obsession with information acquisition and hoarding start? One day I innocently went on a search site called Google to look up one bit of information, which led to another search and another search. Until one day I was searching so much that it became an addiction. Yes, I blame Google for all my problems. Say it with me GOOOOGLE!
Through the best of times and the worst of times there has always been Google. You need to know how to get from point A to point B.....Google. You need to look a word up......Google. The phrase "Google It" has become synonymous with looking anything up. Yes, gone are the days when you had to go to the good ole library to look information up. Anyone remember Encyclopedia Brown?
Now day's information is at your fingertips with a good smartphone. Hence, my "syndrome." So if you suffer from information acquisition overload and hoarding don't worry you are not alone. There is help. Put down the smart phone. Step away from the computer.....if you dare! Take a deep breathe and repeat after me......."There is always tomorrow."
Happy Surfing!
P.S. This is my personal funny for April........enjoy.
