Hi All,

I've not been on my site much lately, but saw that a few comments had been posted on a couple of old posts. When I had a look at them they were pretty generic and

Did you share any links from your site on FB publicly or even in ads that you placed there?

No to both, I don't run a fb page or adds through them.

I don't share mine on Facebook but I was flooded anyways. Since I'm not alone, it must be some other blackhat trend.

I have recently been flooded with nonsensical post with Facebook links too. Must be some crap software being sold by some "guru".

Thanks Steveo good to know My site isn't the only one

I seem to be getting these monkeytize ads pop-up on my site and keep getting additional screens advertising forex and other surveys / get rich schemes, when I view my site even

All thanks for the input. I did a search on the web and found several different ways this adware can affect the system. Fortunately it was on a brand new computer - I was installing Malware Bytes at the time I got adware - there were a number of additional options with the download that had nothing to do with Malware Bytes, but to do with the site I downloaded them from.
Wont make that mistake again. In the end after trying to delete the adware in a number of ways - changing the settings in the browser, editing the registry and uninstalling unknown programmes.
I ended up resetting the system to factory settings. I had nothing to lose since it was a new laptop. If i'd wanted to save any files i'd have recovered to a point in time before the adware came on board.
Again thanks for all the advice.

Glad to hear that you did manage to resolve it. It is hard sometimes to clear up all the mess.

I did the same thing as Hailey when I downloaded video player by mistake. I also followed up by clearing all adware.

I had this issue with a program called pass show ads. To solve the issue I had to use my computer control panel and remove all of the programs that do not belong on the computer. Look for unfamiliar names of programs and stuff that doesn't belong there. Hope this helps.

Yep, I use AVG antivirus to stop this nonsense....they have a free version that is not as effective, but it helps some. Check your browser setting, under tools, for pop-ups, and also in you control panel, under network, and internet security

These ads are a virus or malware if you google it others are having similar problems. I do not as I use Trend anti virus and that blocks such things. I suggest you do a search for the removal methods I found several. Since I do not know your setup I can not advise which is best for you. Good luck!

So its on my computer and not part of the site?

Exactly!

Thanks DH - have found some stuff on the web to help me get rid of it. Will post a reply here if I can get it done. Cheers
