I'm Back! - Update On My Research Goal

So, not quite finished with my research goal of doing six reviews but I am proud to announce that I did get FOUR done! I learned a lot from this experience. Below are some of the things I realized:

1) The amount of time and effort needed to research

I really got to understand how much time and effort needed to be put in for the research step. Knowing this was the most important result of this experiment. Now, I can say with confidence that if I were to do a review of an affiliate program, it would take longer than doing a review of a book as an example.

2) How important it was to really plan ahead

I found myself spinning in confusion until I realized that although I had a general outline of a plan, I didn't name out exactly what reviews I would do. For example, I would say that I would do a review on a book about motivation but I didn't find out the exact title of the book I would do a review for. This added time to the overall planning stage but it got much easier once I actually NAMED what I would review.

3) How I really needed to take a break from the WA community for a bit to focus

I did not realize how I was using the fact that I was helping to keep me from focusing on my goal to finish all the reviews on time. Really what had happened was that I was not confronting the actual time and effort involved with the cycle. This changed once I realized that it would take a bit more time to do the reviews and after I applied what I discovered with number 2 ) above.

4) That I'm now excited to do future research!

This was a result I expected to happen once I really got my feet wet with doing research. I know we were tasked to do this once or twice in the certification courses and at least once for WA on the Affiliate Bootcamp in Course 1 but this really took some confronting of doing the things necessary to get the job done.

Although I did not make my target, I am still excited for the future of my websites now that I have this new-found confidence in .making reviews and still consider it a success that I got this much done.

Congratulations on getting so much done. I am looking at that step right now and don't have time to get to it as I am doing another course right now & it's all I have time for, but wow, four reviews, that amazing. Congratulations.
Sheila

Thanks Sheila! I need to work on getting more of them done now that I've gotten my feet wet haha!

Take your time and get to it when you can! Certainly worth the effort to put time into do research :)

Great job, awesome, Adrian, you are very organised and brilliant, I learnt something from you today!! :))

Aww thank you so much Jewel! I'm glad you were able to get something out of the above! I am always happy to share what has worked for me with others :)

You are most welcome, you are kind, thank you!! :))

Reviews always seem to take me a bit of time! I want to learn as much as I can to be able to cover the subject really well! So I understand the time it takes for research!

That's definitely understandable on being thorough Christa! :)

Glad the jobs well done! Good for you.

Thank you very much! :) It's almost there but I did get quite a bit done!

Great job Adrian! Keep up the awesome work. Organizing ahead of time makes the work more enjoyable. Good chefs, for example, cut up their onions and vegetables and have all the ingredients ready to go before they start sauteing, cooking, frying, etc.

Thanks Steph! Love the analogy as it totally fits!! Much appreciated!

Thanks Adrian, I have also recently struggled with research and writing some content. I loved your plan, and am thinking of doing something similar having read your blogs on this topic.

You're very welcome Cindy! It's good to know that I can help others with my experiences and by blogging them here!

Interesting reading, keep up the good work. Being thorough can only benefit you along the way.

That's true! Thanks Eriksen!

Does it EVER take longer than one things to review sites, haha, especially marketing ones. It took me days to research, compile everything, and then summarize it, and that was just for one review. ^_^

I wish you luck in your future reviews! Let me know if you found out a way to shortcut this process somehow. =)

Kylie

Haha I understand completely Kylie!

Thank you for the warm wishes and I will definitely blog it as soon as I find a shorter way to do it! Knowing me, I most likely will find a way to do it

Adrian

Can't wait to read it! =)

I'll wait for the rest of your research. I want to save them in my own archives. But I like what I've seen so far. You are a clever boy Adrian, though you didn't keep the June 10th dateline, you'll know why I mention this by visiting my blog "Day 139". God bless....
Shirley

Awesome Shirley! Thanks for taking a look at them. I'm curious now what you're talking about in terms of your blog.

You definitely are good in that you know how to leave the right kind of "mystery sandwiches"

Adrian

Well, go on and find out then....bless you
