Excitement for the new "Site Comments" section
Kyle and Carson have done it again! They have unveiled a new update to the system for premium members and this is with a whole new comments system. I will talk a bit about the system here based on my experience with it:
1) It is extremely easy to use
Looks like a lot of effort was put in to make this wonderful new addition very user-friendly. It gives a tour in the beginning and then go overs how the system works. Kyle has even discussed it in detail in his blog here:

2) Don't forget to comment on the Site comments INSTEAD of on the site directly.
I made this mistake the first time I was using this system. I went onto the page and then instead of commenting at Site Comments, I left the comment on the page. *Face palm* After I did that, I realized how I just had to read the post or page and then comment directly onto the Site Comments page.
I have also seen other users do the same on my site instead of on Site Comments directly!
So, let's break out of the habit of commenting on the site and comment via the Site Comments page!
3) You can select your own interests for pages/posts to comment on
I love this feature a lot. Many times I have found myself having to scroll through the give and take thread to find something that would grab my interest. But with this new feature, I now get sites that I absolutely want to comment on.
4) Comments are certainly received in higher quality as well
Because the commentator can select their interests, that means that your site will also be viewed by someone who wants to read up on it, which means better comments. I have been shy to post one of my websites on the give and take thread because I knew that the topic was not one that would be readily accepted by someone who was just passing by. However, with this, we're talking about a whole different ball game entirely!
I've had over 15 comments in the past two days and almost all of them (14 out of 15) were relevant comments and were over 75 words long on average!! Plus, they were truly relevant to my post!

Hi Adrian, are you aware of the fact that, allthough you have 6 comments on your article Absolute Value Function, the counter says only 2, the comments coming on your website by the new WA thread are not counting up
Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention Loes! On my passion site, it's showing up fine but for some reason, it's messing up on my math website.

I looked into it further. Apparently, there was a bug with the system and Kyle was notified. Kyle answered back to the person that sent the question (which can be found below) and the system should be working properly with the comments on wordpress now.
I also found a quick fix for my issue within the question asked as well: A bug with the new site comment system?
That's why mine is counting well, I went to the wordpress backoffice all times, to update the comments
Good post Adrian, I had a DOH moment as well because, like you, I put my first comment straight onto the site. I then realised what I had done and pasted it into the sitecomments box so my contribution probably ended up on the said page twice!

Awesome Shirley! I'm pleased to hear I have helped you and given you some light to what it is and how it can be of benefit. There is a very simple tutorial when you first visit that page that go overs the features very clearly.
Try it and you will see! It's SO much easier than the give and take comment thread and much more beneficial in my opinion as the people reading your posts/pages would actually care more about what your post is about.(as indicated by their interests).
Well I'm not much for the give and take thread as I always believe in the adage "Give and expect nothing back" altho' counter to that I also believe in "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you". What you've shown here seems to answer both views, I like!

Just a question if I feel that my websites are not ready for comments. Can I still comment on other sites without getting feedback on mine?
Yup. Still use the new system.
This way you will build up a stash of credits you can use later to receive comments.
Totally agree with Moritz! You can rack up credits by commenting on other people's sites first.
However, there is nothing wrong with generating comments on the posts or pages you do have.
If you continue with your lessons, you will see the importance of doing that as you progress! Remember we, as a community, help each other out so it's fine to ask for comments on what you have so far :)
Hey Adrian good to see you. I like the new platform and the days of "Great Site" are gone. The only down side to the whole thing is that now you have to actually read the site in full to make a comment. "Time", is something I don't have a lot of. I would estimate 30 min to provide a decent review. Only from my side of things I wont be doing much reviewing. I had a look the other day and they gave me a site about financial planning of which I know Zero to comment on. I will go back from time to time and have another look but as at now my sites take precedence.

What do you mean Lindon?
The Site Comments page is different from the Site Feedback page. You only have to give a comment on a post or page of the person's site. It shouldn't be giving you the WHOLE site to review. The Site Comments page even only asks for a minimum of 50 words which is nothing.
The Site Comments section gives you the option of picking what your interests are so you can choose to not receive anything about finances and accept those you do like to read about.
Plus, even if you don't like what you were selected to comment on, you can click the "Offer comments" button and it will give you a different post to comment on.
It's a wonderful system but I understand what you mean when you say you should focus on your site mainly.

I agree that this new system rocks! Takes away all the issues with the give and take comments thread and makes it super easy to get comments and to give quality comments - on things that you have interest and knowledge in and this also leads to more quality comments for your own site for that reason.
Continually impressed with WA with the constant improvements that are made here - and how Kyle and Carson have a finger on the pulse for just where improvements are needed. Great work!
