Since a great number of my impressionable years were spent during the 80s Hair Metal era, I have to say that I am a little disheartened by the fact that the music that I grew up with, and considered to be, in my opinion, the greatest era of music in the United States, has pretty much died out in this country. However, take heart, my fellow metalheads, because our type of music may be dead in this country, but it is still very much alive and well over in Europe. For those of us that are also strong in our Christian faith, you'll be happy to know that our old favorites Stryper are still putting albums out, as their latest album, The Final Battle, was released in 2022. The band has lost none of their hard-rocking roots, and Micheal Sweet's powerful, melodic tenor voice still manages to tap indelibly into the band's strong Christian beliefs. Over in Europe, the Christian Metal genre is still gaining traction, with the Swedish based metal group Golden Resurrection, as well as groups such as Armored Saint, Audiovision, Narnia, and Divinefire, with Christian Lijengren at the helm.
