PayPal Phishing
A couple of days ago I discovered a suspicious looking email that claimed to be from PayPal requesting that I fill in a form that would clear up some kind of problem with my PayPal account. Watch for this because it is a Phishing attempt by someone trying to get your information. I contacted PayPal and sent them a copy. They confirmed that it is a bogus email. If you find this, just trash it!

Hi Ed.
PayPal is VERY clear on it's policy here.
If they send you an email, it will always say "Dear Mark," - (in my case) - it will always have your name, not "PayPal user" or "member" etc etc.
Also, ANY email you receive that has an attachment, normally a zip file, that is either a) from someone you don't know or b) from someone you were not expecting an email from... delete it immediately. The attachment most likely is a virus, which will install itself on your computer - and either do damage, or sit in the background monitoring your personal username and passwords for various things, and send them back to some unknown criminal gang, who will go on to make things a little depressing for you!
If your bank was seriously worried about your balance, or their systems had been exposed and your password had been released - they would be phoning you, or it would be all over BBC/Sky/CNN etc. You wouldn't get a random email about it!
Bottom line, anything you haven't signed up for, and you get an email from that you weren't expecting, SPAM/DELETE. If it's really important, you'll get a phone call or a letter.
All the best, Mark
Thanks Mark for your concern.
