Darts anyone?
It is often said that most people spend more time planning a weekend trip than they do planning their lives.
That is a rather harsh statement.
Unfortunately, it is also an accurate statement.
As I write these words, I am a living example.
My brother and brother-in-law play together on the same team in a local dart league. So, whenever we spend family time together with them -- throwing darts is often what we do.
The only time I throw darts is when I am with them and I have to borrow their darts to be able to join in.
This year I put a dart set on my christmas wish list and I was gifted with a set of darts.
Now I am working on where can I setup a dartboard in my home!
My wife and I live in a relatively small place.
The challenge is to find a place with the proper height for the dartboard and the proper throwing distance, without fear of damaging the darts or other things in our home.
As I am doing this I started to think about how much planning I do for my own life!
- - How much planning goes into the goals I say that I want?
- - What is it that I want to accomplish in my life?
- - What would I like my life to look like?
I have to admit that I do not give as much attention to these thoughts as they deserve.
That thought in itself is rather convicting.
This is a neat living example of spending more time planning for a dartboard then planning for my own life.
What about you, do you find yourself spending more time and effort planning a weekend trip or some other project than you do planning your own life?
Just something to think about.
Please share your thoughts about planning your life on my blog!
all the best,
Derrall

Your blog really 'hit home'; I had to really give this one some deep contemplation....thank you for the much-needed cold water wakeup!
thank you,
it is encouraging to know that I am not alone in this kind of behaviour!
all the best,
You are definitely not alone in this one....but one of the few who will say it aloud in public! Large kudos for being one of the brave ones .... sometimes we all need to re-focus.....
Great blog! What EXACTLY do you want and how do you plan on getting there!? Planning is planning. For the next day or the next week ( however you do yours). Plan your small step to your big step. Planning is equivalent to setting goals( small or large). Good luck and Happy Holidays to you all!
