Back to Basics
Have you noticed how often new members comment about rushing through the training?
Have you felt the frustration of wanting to curb that energy and to focus it in on developing the skills, rather than just checking off the assignments?
Imagine, if there was a story of someone who mastered the lessons one at a time and it all worked out!
Sadly, I am not that person.
When I joined WA in July 2014, I had already built a number of small websites for various purposes. So I thought I just needed to learn a little bit more and this would be the way.
I rushed through the training, checking off the assignments, but not really learning anything. Certainly not developing any level of skill.
That may explain why my website is not ranking.
So now, my goal is to get back to basics, and start to develop the skills by repeated practice.
I want to be able to say, "if I can do it, you can too." That even includes being able to say, "I had to start over -- so can you."
all the best,

very good,
it is not just about taking your time -- it is about mastering the skill, which can only be done by repeated effort

Not only do I take my time, I take notes.
I have gone back to them many times for the tasks and to double check when I'm doing the work on my website.
Every day I see questions asked for simple things and it shows how some don't take time to understand and follow properly. It's easy to miss a step and mess things up.
Do it once, do it right :)
Keywords are very important along with quality content that help people.
thank you & well said,
unfortunately that was not the way I did the training my first time through,
now, as I re-do the training, I still do not take notes,
instead, I practice the exercise over and over again
I want to develop and master the skill -- to be able to make it almost like a 2nd habit
all the best,
keywords are not just important -- they are vital
quality content that helps people is the lifeblood of a successful blog
all the best,
