Pursuing My Dreams

This blog's purpose is to track my progress in pursuing my dream of owning my own successful online business, get feedback and advice from members of the WA community, and give ideas and inspiration to the other members of the WA community. So let me introduce myself.

Hello. I am Anita, but most know me as Nita. I am a mom of one son, going through a seperation in my marriage but hoping to eventually get back together, the caregiver of my grandmother whom has Alzheimer's disease, and the odd one out in my family, as my thoughts and beliefs are almost the opposite of those of my siblings, parents, and grandparents. I have spent the past 12+ years looking after family and sacrificing my dreams and future. This year has been a year of change and loss for me. My grandmother had a stroke in January which accelerated her Alzheimer's. Then my husband walked out on me and our son a week later. I spent the next six months watching my father slowly die from COPD. He passed away in June. Then my grandmother had a second stroke. My grandmother, my son, and I ended up having to move in with my sister and her family, Me and my sister do not get along well for very long, so living in her house has been a challenge. But it has made me wake up and realize that the only person that can give me the life I desire is me. I have always wanted my own business, but have never pursued it until now. I have nothing else to lose and everything to gain.

I have studied Psychology, Sociology, and Professional Writing in college, though I am taking time off now. I am an ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church. On my own I have studied mythology, spirituality, self empowerment, goddesses, crystal healing, herbal healing, color healing, meditation, mindfulness, simplicity, love, forgiveness, prayer, guided meditation, green living, aromatherapy, Reiki, writing, affirmations, subliminal messages, self-hypnosis, and many other subjects. I love to read and learn. I believe that self-improvement, self-empowerment, and learning are all life-long endeavors.

I love to travel, though I rarely get the oppurtunity to travel except on the wide world web. I love art. I am teaching myself to draw. I plan to teach myself to paint soon. I love to take photos and am teaching myself photography. I taught myself how to crochet and make jewelry. I love anything and everything that is creative. I grew up wanting to be a fashion designer and drew hundreds of dresses in high school. One day I would love to learn to sew and actually make on of the designs I have created. I love to cook and create my own recipes. I love to decorate for Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Fall is my favorite time of year. I wish that I had the money to get a Cabin in the Smoky Mountains to spend fall and christmas break in. I love the seasons to actually FEEL like the seasons, which is rare down here in South Georgia.

I want to help people. I want to help them find joy. I want to help them create a life they love and that matters. I want to help them reach their full potential. I want to help them create a life that is deeply spiritual, healthy, holistic, and natural.
