Falling asleep at work

Trying to stay awake at work is one of nature’s tortures. If you look at the animal kingdom you see that throughout the animal kingdom all species take some sort of nap during the day. For some reason humans (who love to believe that they are not a part of the earth’s species) don’t need it. But that is not true. I believe that at least one country to my knowledge now allows people to take a nap during the day because it is proven that it helps with refocus and productivity. You see it all the time when you wake up in the morning. All these half asleep humans making their way to work or school. It’s actually pretty horrible to watch. I feel sorry for these people. We need to start getting back to nature by taking our queues from it and maybe following some of our fellow animal cousins behavior.

I never really understood why while sitting in the classroom all those years ago at about the same time I would slowly but surely start to drift in and out of sleep. All around the time of midday to about 1500. I would fight to stay awake. Only to have to fight what then felt like the hardest fight of my life against nature. Even today I wish I could fall asleep at that very moment when I’m most tired. That soothing warming feeling of drifting away without a worry in the world. Anyway I just like to let you know what I thinking every now again and why I decided to start my own business. So I could free up some of that beautiful midday sleep time.

Have a good day.

I absolutely agree that it's a far better way to work. We spend a lot of time in Italy and you get used to places being closed for around 3 hours in the afternoons and then re-opening and working later.

Hey I really like that concept. Inthe UK and Germany where I currently reside, you would be lucky to not get the scorned look from somebody if you even thought about closing your eyes at work.

Wayne, you are spot on! I would love to have a nap during the day, recharge and then can be more productive again! I believe in Spain they have a fiesta (food) , followed by a siesta (nap). I think they have got it right! Cheers, Lisa

Sure I think it's also worse for children once they reach primary school. I used to regularly find myself drowsing off after lunch everyday without fail. But a Nap...no chance. That went on all the way till I left school. I think the school system is there to train you for life at work. I believe you can't train nature.

I feel you are right. We all need rests to rejuvenate and perform at our very best. A good power nap of a half hour after working for 4 hours works best for me.

Yes I might start a movement
