The thing I could think about is:
Make sure you are pasting it while you are in "Text" tab and not in "Visual'! :)

So if i'm understanding correctly you mean the page title like the heading text of a document. some themes will allow you to change the colour in the text settings where the tab for bold and italics is placed...If the option is not there then your website theme doesn't not support colour change.
I have some sites where I cannot change the colour directly, but it can be change through Html. I tend to stick to black and white rather than play with html, it's just easier and cleaner.
