Taking the Plunge - 3 Reasons I Went Premium

I did it. I signed up for the Premium membership. This was no small decision for me, to be blunt I'm a cheap skate. Yes, I got the discount price for my first month so that didn't hurt, but I was still shy about paying for a service that hasn't proven to ME that it can make ME money. So Why did I do it?
Financial Goals
I have an initial goal of making an extra 200-300 per month with the Wealthy Affiliate strategy. If the program delivers, I think this is a modest goal even considering the minimal time I can commit to it right now -- somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-10 hours per week.

Let's assume I get to a point relatively soon (let's call this 2-3 months) where I can make $200 per month. If I'm spending no more than 5 hours per week to do it (not counting initial training and set up which I consider more of an initial investment than work hours), that's 20 hours per month. This is the equivalent of a $10/hr job with the added benefit of working when I have time and when I want. This is far less than I make in my day job but probably about what can be reasonably expected from a 2nd job if I were to go work for someone else for extra cash. I think that's fair -- anything more than that is cherry.
Training
The WA business model is solid -- get us hooked with some decent initial training and keep us excited as we learn. I have a decent background in computers so a lot of this initial training was elementary to me but I would be a liar if I said I knew everything that has been presented thus far I'd be a liar. This leads me to believe that as I advance through the other training I will learn that much more. Computers are not new to me but internet marketing is so there's a steep learning curve. The hope and assumption is that as I learn more and refine my own websites, cash flow will increase with less effort. Perhaps that $10/hr turns to $15, $20, or more per hour as I become more efficient and learn more tricks.
Networking
I will admit, I'm not entirely sure how the networking will increase cash flow but based on a quick scan of the top ranked individuals at WA, it certainly seems important. The Premium membership offers more opportunities to network and participate so it's definitely something I will make a conscious effort to do.
Wish me luck, here I go!
