The Challenge

I never know what i'm going to write when i start, i just have a concept in mind, so let's hope this doesn't go off the rails.

I upgraded to premium a few days ago, but haven't been home long enough to really sit down and do anything. I did copy a lot of old pages from an old website, and the original files from Google docs, so i guess i did something.

Anyway, i still came to my page to a lot of comments about staying with it, and taking it slow. It reminds me of a few years ago when i took a six week bootcamp challenge. We have all seen them in our part of the country. Join the bootcamp for $499, follow their instructions and if you lose 20 pounds you get your money back. And then you start.

I started mine shortly after my father passed three years ago. I had recently been diagnosed with diabetes, so i lost 20 pounds already leading up to the challenge solely by changing my diet to what was safe. Mostly chicken and vegetables, and eliminating all bread products. I assumed that joining the bootcamp would fire that up.

it did. But, there was a lot to that bootcamp that was the reason for the success. Most of it was the accountability and the facebook page. The group of people who followed you, and asked how yuo were doing. Also, the requirement that we post on our facebook pages for at least twenty of the workouts and letting people know our goals.. (for us. for them, it was free guerilla advertising)... I lost 17.5 more pounds, but i chalk part of that to my original weigh in being on a high fluctuation date... my weight can be five to seven pounds different on any given day... but I looked good. I felt the difference. Had i lost two more pounds, i could have done another six weeks for free. OR, i could use that weight loss as a dollar per pound discount on my membership. I told myself that i know what needs to be done, and that i coudln't afford the membership.

Well, i couldn't do it myself. I need to be pushed. I need to see me get better. A friend who motivated me to start said "it doesn;'t get easier, you get stronger". and that was undoubtedly true. That's what i saw with Site Build It, that's what i'm seeing here. That's what i saw with the bootcamp and it needs to be what i see with my Insurance Career and transistion.

So....i look forward to thanking more people in my push and learning the importance of accountability in reaching my goals and coaching.
