Words have Power!

Speaking about myself has never been easy. I remember when I had my very first interview my boss told me I interviewed horribly, however, she looked past the fear I displayed and saw my passion and value for the company. That was a very rare situation. Thank God for that opportunity.

I have learned in life that we train people how to treat us by what we say, how we react or don’t react. So many of us are serves to others. We give and give until there is not anything left to give to ourselves (if we even know how to do that). We tell people, don’t worry about that, I will take care of it. We say it so many times to people that individuals have actually stopped asking if we need support because they know we have it handled. We must be careful, otherwise the words we speak will come back to be weapons we try to use against people in the future. Here is a classic one used all the time. “Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine!” and no one comes to check on you.

Always keep at the forefront of your mind that no one has things covered 100%. We all need help. Start to focus on yourself before giving to others. Teach people how to treat you and allow them to support. In doing so, you give others a since of fulfillment and your tank can be full so you can continue to give to others.

Remember words have power so we need to be careful what we say :)

Cheers to our success,

Yvonne K.

English literature starting with Shakespeare is full of recognition of this principle.
