Christmas Amid COVID: How Long Will this Nightmare Finally Last?
In the last two years, celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (Christmas) has never been so dreadful. It has become a common feature in family gatherings, with many people missing around the family table. Furthermore, it is heartbreaking for those who directly or indirectly lost loved ones due to COVID. People feel traumatized when they notice that a seat a family member once occupied in the past has become empty, "vacant," even though now occupied by someone else.
COVID has flipped the world upside down. So many lives have been adversely affected. First responders, nurses, doctors, police officers, firefighters, retail workers, teachers, and even students are badly affected.
And the most ridiculous as it might sound, flight attendants acquiring Marshall-Arts training (so they can defend themselves against attacks from depressed and mentally unstable individuals) just to keep their jobs? The list is endless.
People are asking with apprehension: "For how long will this nightmare last?" as 2021 comes to a close, and 2022 opens its doors.
While we fold our arms in disbelief, seeing how COVID-19 mutated into Delta Variant and now into Omicron. We are waiting helplessly for a COVID-free 2022.
The same goes for my WA family, who I wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Well Pedro, it will end when the people quit cow-towing to the obvious BS, my friend!
It's the FLU which is also a corona virus, btw!

I thought this Christmas would be different from last year. However, my husband tested positive for Covid a week ago. He has been isolated ever since. He lives with me, his wife, and two daughters. We have been crazily washing things, keeping masks on, and gotten tested numerous times through rapid response tests and PCR testing.
Thankfully, as of yesterday we are all clear. My two other children are also clear and will be arriving here today and tomorrow with their significant others.
I say it is a Christmas miracle.
Try to stay positive, get outside and breathe in the fresh air, and perhaps do some exercise. This too shall pass, maybe not the way we planned. However, this may be the new norm and we will learn to cope with it.
I too, lost someone dear to me from Covid. But life goes on. Try to make the most of it and dwell on something positive rather than negative.
How about journaling about all your blessings? Hang in there everyone and try to make lemonade out of lemons.
Happy Holidays everyone!
Nina

You need to detach from the Covid thought as it will help you focus on your business or earnings.
Keeping on thinking with out any results kills the human brain.
Need to do is just don't give importance to covid, take maximum measures of safety against covid and start working on your goals.
People have died basically due to the fear of covid.
Everyone should have the will power spike up so much that they can beat this pandemic situation without too much thinking and taking immediate actions for the same;
So keep yourself safe and healthy and control your thoughts.

Keep jesus in you heart and mind and you can feel the Christmas.

All I want for Christmas is the truth and that seems hard to come by. I am afraid that we have to decide when it ends and that decision is different for all of us and our level of risk. Hopefully each variant gets weaker and it becomes manageable. I am so sorry for everyone who lost a love one the last two years. It is so unfortunate. Merry Christmas to you!
You're correct. The truth is a very scarce commodity in our day and time we live. I hope, as you said, the variant becomes weaker and leaves us alone!
At this junction, I've nothing else but to wish you a COVID-free Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.
