Have you ever felt.

Hi everyone, so its my 7th week here at WA, and so far its been WONDERFUL!! My first few days I felt like I kicked BUTT, and got a lot accomplished!!!! But now i'm up to the part in my training where I need to add some real content to my websites, and for some reason I work on it but not as much as I would like to, and i'm wondering if anyone has ever felt like like this before, and gone through the same struggle? Has it taken anyone weeks/months to add content? I feel like I can write short posts at a time, but thinking about a whole website in one sitting I guess is a lot to think about, and I feel that's probably why i'm not working on it as much as I should. I was so pumped and i'm still pumped, but I enjoy promoting WA right now MORE than writing out my content and I know that is not right at all!!!!!!! Does anyone have any suggestions that could maybe help with writing out content easier? I'm currently working on my "have your own business website" (www.haveyourownbusiness.com)

Any ideas or suggestions, would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! Thank you WA family! :)

Hi Yamaris,
You are not the only one. It is completely normal. Adding content is not something that you can do overnight in just one sitting. Don't feel bad about taking breaks. When it is hard to think of something take a break or work on something else like the looks of your website or finding referrals( what you have been doing is perfectly fine). Don't worry, content will come naturally. Resting and taking breaks is also important so that next time your brain comes fresh and with new ideas. Whenever an idea comes to your mind write it in a journal as soon as you can. Don't leave it for later because you might forget. I just checked your website and I think you should remove the Wordpress bar on top. It just doesn't feel right for it to be there in this type of website. Also, I think that big laptop with the glasses image is too big. Maybe you should crop it ( I uploaded a sample size of how big I would have that picture - more or less). This is just my opinion so go with what you feel is right for you. Anyways, I am glad you are making progress and keep working. Don't give up.

awesome I really appreciate all this!!! I'm so new to it all, and you know how it goes, i'm learning as I do it, lol. I will take into consideration what you are saying as I agree I feel something is off too. Thanks so much for all your help!!!! :)

thank you I took your advice and added this image to my website!!! it looks soooooo much better, thanks again! :)

I'm glad I was able to help a bit ^_^

Great Yamaris! I also am struggling a little with the content writing - Guess we just have to do a little at a time.

How do you eat an elephant?

A little at a time.

My trouble is I try to rush it and then have to go back and start again!

Best Wishes

Hey Patrick!!! Yes I've been writing everything down on paper, brainstorming and coming up with my 10 topics etc.... I will have my site up in no time!!!! Best of luck to you let me know if you need any feedback!!!! :)

Thanks Yamaris! Much appreciated

Hi Yamaris, your progress is good. Each day keep moving forward by completing little chunks of work. Irv.

Thanks, that's exactly what I am going to do, its much easier that way! :)

Hey Yamaris,
Just wanted to stop by and saying that you are not alone. I learnt to write when I joined G+ and began to share posts and write little texts above.

I would suggest that you just begin to journal about your thoughts which come up around your topic and to get out of your mind the idea that it will be published. I guess that it is that what stops you. When you just begin to write what you are thinking just now, without ANY intention to publish it, then it will come. Later you can go through the material, condense it and re-arrange it - or take it as it is. And then you decide what to publish.

Take your time. It is important that you find the joy in writing without the fear of not being good enough
Heidi

Hey Heidi,
you are so right about that. I've written several short posts on linkedin, and facebook and I find that much easier than writing pages on a website, lol. I will continue just breaking it up and I am confident my website will be up in no time!!! Thank you!!! :)

I actually ONLY write posts and then group them on the pages, relative to the topic. They appear as a small box when you insert the post -url

Oh that's is awesome! Great idea, I will try that!!! :)

If you have questions, ask!

I do not think you're alone in such situation at all, Yamaris; many times I'm tempted too, but I believe there comes a time when we need to wrestle with ourselves, and win over ourselves to get the tasks done, otherwise not doing the tasks may become a habit, and the tasks may never be done.May I refer you to my blog "Wow! Such Healthy and Profound Competition" I was prompted to write that blog, because of my understanding of human nature and I experienced situation, similar to yours. Thanks for sharing, I'm inspired.

Thanks so much Sheila! You are absolutely right!!! I'm a big time procrastinator and when I get overwhelmed, its just human nature to avoid it. But I must tackle it head on! I will focus on just breaking it down bit by bit and I will definitely check out your blog for some insight! Thanks so very much for your response, I really appreciate it!!!!! :)

Just take it piece by piece, in manageable chunks instead of looking at it as a whole :)

Yes, that's exactly what I will focus on!!!! Thanks so much Jude!!!!! :)

Hello, I know exactly how you feel. I thought, how in the world am I going to come up with 3 pages of content? I was stressing about it and then I sat down and just started typing everything I knew about my 3 categories. I also did a little research to make sure what I was saying was fact but I was surprised at how much content I came up with. Remember, Kyle said it doesn't have to be perfect. You can do it. Just hang in there and keep brainstorming. I hope this helps

Awww, thanks so much Gary!!! I really appreciate it. You're exactly right, I just need to do it, lol!!!! It does help so much, thank you!!!!!!! :)

Firstly, LOVE THE DOMAIN! :)

Great start!, The site looks fresh and inviting, I like the way it incorporates almost 2 styles of theme like a basic one and a media one. (Hope that makes sense) haha.

Right, I have been in the same situation and sometimes it feels impossible to get through. I suggest you break it up.

I have a nice big notepad that I title the blog heading and then draw out my page. break it up into paragraphs and KNOW what you need to cover for the page to makes sense.

Keep it simple!

Stick to what your vision and goal is. Do not wish something else. :)

Stop thinking of the whole website, the whole website will soon fill up once you start with the small steps.

1 page at a time!

Hey Bryan,
thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! I really appreciate you taking the time out to respond to me in such detail! It feels good to know I am not alone! I really love how you broke it down for me and I think that is exactly what I needed! I will do exactly what you said!! It can be so overwhelming sometimes, but I have to keep myself in check and my vision as the goal! Thanks again Bryan for all of your help today!!!! Lets stay connected!!! Talk soon!! :)
