Gripping for Hurricane Matthew!
Hey WA family!!! So I have been living in South Florida since 2008! My family and I are about to experience our very first hurricane! Its a bit scary to think this storm is coming with very high winds. Luckily for us we live in a high rise building and our deck's shutters are completely locked. We are just sitting here watching the news grabbing candles, lanterns, ice cooler, flashlights, etc. Schools are closed, businesses are closed. Pray for those on hurricane Matthew's path. Its a category 4 storm.
Let mother nature have mercy on us!!!!

Oh no, I've been in one in the cook islands its very scary, coconut trees, iron roofing, coconuts, island shaks flying everywhere. Be safe, I live in New Zealand now and heard on the news this morning the mayor advising everybody to evacuate an area immediately. Be Safe. God Bless. x

Hiya, I'm a New Zealander, I was born and raised here, went to live in the cook islands for 5years and have been back in NZ for the past 12yrs since then. New Zealand have some beautiful places you will love to visit. If you ever get the chance look up 'Aitutaki' in the Cook Islands this is the island I lived on.

I hope you do not get affected too severely by the hurricane. I have relatives living in Florida too, in the Tampa area. I hope for the best. I hear it is a very powerful one.
Thanks a bunch Bryce!!! Yeah they said it was a category 4 but honestly so far I haven't seen anything too crazy. We'll see it might still be early before we get it. I hope your family is doing OK!!! :)
Hello Yamaris, be safe and follow the authorities. Hurricanes are not things to take for granted.
Hi Harvey!! Thanks for the support!! I know we kept thinking it might miss us, but that hasn't been the case for Florida!!!! :)
So are we here in South Carolina. Everything is closed already and we have been ordered to evacuate the area for the next 72 hrs. It is a mandatory 100 mile coastal town area evacuation. We live 21 miles from the coast. All hotels and motels in the state are full as we are bunkered down in our one story brick home. We are well prepared for it to hit us as it is currently expected to be close to a direct shot as there is to landfall in South Carolina later this week. Stores are out of everything now here so I can only imagine how it is for you there. Hang in there and keep us posted! I am going to blog on it shortly once I get home from the sandbagging location I am at now.

wow that's crazy!!!! You guys got it worst up there for sure!!!! So far, I haven't found the weather too crazy. Strong winds for sure, but i'm not sure if we've gotten the worst of it yet.... Hope things work out for you!!! Good luck with everything!! :)
I ended up putting the blog on my site stressfreesolutions,org on the page Before the storm- Facing a Natural Disaster.. I had some imaging issues and I could not get any of the images to upload. It took me all afternoon working on the permissions that I almost didn't do a blog at all so I skipped the images and wrote the blog there so I had something to engage an audience with. check it out if you like. It is only a fraction of the stress factors involved so far.
