Google Webmaster "I Swear I Own This Site!"

So I am having a little trouble with Google Webmaster and Analytics. I can not for the life of me figure out how to prove ownership of my site. It offers four methods, with the easiest seeming to be the META tag insert. However, I keep getting this message. "Your meta tag is not in the <head> section of your home page."
I can not seem to find a way to edit the actual coding of my site to get to the <head> section. I have tried creating a header an adding the Meta tag there with no luck. Another option given is the HTML file upload. Not sure how this works.
Domain name provider is the third option. Since I switched my site over from site rubix to my own domain, I am not sure who my domain provider is, and have no clue how to find out.
The last option is with "Google Analytics". Which I have my Goggle Analytics account set up, it just requires that you post your analytics ID in the <head>. So i am sure you can see my dilemma.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
