First Real Sale After 8 Month! Yamaha YDP-184 $2,199.99
I'm so excited today when I check my Amazon Affliate page. Someone has bought a digital piano worth $2,199.99 through my website. My cut is $132. This is the very first real sale since I started the site last Aug.
The site is about digtial pianos and I write mostly reviews. In the last 8 months, there were some sales but most of them are just random stuff.
Someone bought a toy lamborghini from Amazon Canada. I am sure it was Kyle!
To be honest, I almost give up on this niche. In my own reviews, I always encourage my readers to find a physical shop so that they can try the piano, since the feel of the key action is something that can not be conveyed through words.
I feel most potential buyers would make purchase in a physical shop. This sale just showed me that even if my assumption is true, there are still enough people ordering digital pianos online.
It's funny how human brain works. Now I can't stop thinking about this piano getting returned...
Anyway, Just want to share with you this good news. I hope it's not a total waste of your time.

Congratulations Wei on that fantastic commission. It's not often an Amazon Associate earns that amount from one sale.
Don't think about the piano getting returned. Just focus your thoughts on how much enjoyment someone, somewhere in the world, is getting from being the owner of that wonderful piano. Maybe it was a gift from someone who is wealthy to a budding pianist.

Although 8 months is quite a long time to wait, the first sale is the hardest, so hopefully you'll now start making regular sales. $132 is certainly a nice commission and you don't need too many like that to make quite reasonable income.

Where in Holland are you living? I lived in Rotterdam for about 4 months in 1978 and loved it there. I later worked in the Dutch sector of the North Sea on oil rigs - round about 1985.

I live in a small town called Schiedam, which is 10 mins from Rotterdam.
Rotterdam is awesome. It's very international and I find it a good mix of everything.
But I suppose it's very different from when you were here. :)

I'm in Perth, Western Australia - much better weather than N. Europe, which is why I left England 31 years ago.
When I lived in Rotterdam I was working in Maasluis so I used to pass through Schiedam twice a day. I was there to make money for an overland back-packing trip to Australia.
Although I returned to England from Australia after 2 years on the road, I often thought of coming back here. For the most part its been a good decision, although I still miss quite a few things - family, friends and English pubs mainly.
It would be good to return to Rotterdam one day and see how it looks in the 21st century. I plan to be in Germany & Austria in December/January but definitely won't have time to detour to Holland.
Oh well, maybe next time?

I don't know any Chinese pubs in Perth but I know a few Chinese restaurants that sell beer.
Just start selling a few more of those electronic keyboards and you'll soon have the plane fare covered.
Well done Wei. I sell, here in Australia the similar items and mostly people come into the stores to try. But our online sales are high and up to about that price level in all brands people will buy on line. Maybe they saw at a friends home or even another shop and for whatever reason, even an otherwise busy life style, therefore convenience in the online purchase.
Your encouragement will have helped too...part of the research scene.
When people come to our store these days, I ask what have you researched, so I can start on their page of reference.

I do not know if you have read Nathanell's latest post he spoke a similiar experience to yours however it seems that sometimes better results come along later
