Who is Yang Xiong?

Hello friends.

I thought it would be appropriate for me to say a little something about myself as I start out this journey in Wealthy Affiliate. My goal here is to acquire the skills necessary to become a successful online marketer for any niche that I choose. More importantly, I want to develop the skills necessary to be able to help others achieve their own goals because I know that if I can help enough people get what they want, I can then get what I want.

I am presently able to work from home on a full time basis after trying for more than 15 years to get out of a job. My professional background or I guess you can say previous career was being a social worker. As a social worker, I helped people to deal with their social and related issues by guiding them to identify their goals, laying out plans of actions and linking them to resources. Over the years, I saw that being a social worker, I could only do so much. I will say more on this in another blog, but essentially, what I discovered was that in most cases, the social ills that people experience are a direct result of them being poor financially and mentally - lack of personal development.

The catch was I was no different from them. I may not have all the social issues that they have in their lives, but I had financial issues and was not able to do all that I wish. Almost two years ago, I decided that I was going to do whatever it takes to get out of my job and to start working for myself. Through hard work, persistence, and determination, I finally was able to leave my "secured" job of 11 years at the end of February 2014.

Today, I am a stay at home dad who finally was able to start to take back many wonderful experiences that I was not able to do for the last 15 years. These experiences are joys of being able to take my kids to school, picking them up from school, taking them to after school activities, and above all, being able to spend more quality time with my wife and kids.

Well.... That's enough about me for now. I look forward to working with any of you who would like to also have total freedom with their time. Lets end 2014 with a blast and make 2015 the best year ever in our lives!
