Black Friday. Join in on the fun, or prepare for next year?

Here's something that has been crossing my mind lately.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming up. If I'm correct, each of them will add up to 3.5 Billion dollars in revenue. That's a lot of dollars. Even per minute that's still 2.4 Million dollars.

Needless to say, there are a lot of opportunities for us money seekers out here.

So, why wouldn't one jump on the train and try to get some revenue?

Well, first of all, there's a lot of competition out there. So it's not like the money is out for grabs.

Secondly, do we know what we're doing?

and third, if you don't rank already, you're not going to rank withing two weeks either, so you're down to paid ads.

Competition

To elaborate on the first point. There is a lot of competition, but should we be afraid of that as affiliate marketeers?

I'm still very much a beginner in the field of affiliate marketing and already I've seen that in every niche, you're going to find competition. But that's not a bad thing. You just have to step up your game. You have to do your best, keep at it, and don't expect to dominate the field.

All you need, is a piece of the pie. Never forget that. It's impossible to eat the pie by yourself, so be content with your slice. Then, if you want more pie, work harder for it, or look for another pie.

Greenness

On the second point. I for me, certainly, don't know what I'm doing. So, should I get on the Black Friday train?

I'm not sure I can say if I should. My position however is the following:

I will get on the train. And that's because I am surely going to learn a lot. So, even if I don't make any money, I will be that much closer to making money next year.

Paid ads

Since I don't rank (yet) for any money making keywords, I will have to get my traffic via ads.

There's a big risk there, because I don't know much of ad prices, nor making ads. So I could go out and pay a lot and not gain anything. I haven't got a clue yet.

However, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

So I am going to do this and I'm going to learn a lot in two weeks time.

I'm very excited and a little scared hahaha
