Hi all, I'm thinking of creating a website in Chinese. Anyone here has any experience in doing this? How should I do my keyword research since the WA keyword tool does not support Chinese? I'm not targeting people from China so I think Baidu keyword tool may not be suitable. Any advice for me? Thanks.

Hi there, as for Chinese blog, I have one: chinablogs.siterubix.com, just did it by writing directly in Chinese and the WP theme accepted.
As for keywords, I have not given any attention to it. You can not use the English keywords for a Chinese site, and for Chinese keywords, seems Baidu is the one that counted. Maybe you can find some info with Taiwanese sites.

Shall tell you more if I find something useful.

Regards
Monty

Good question. I was thinking in making a website in French or Dutch but I'll wait for that. What I do now, is targeting different countries in my website. I noticed that 80 % of my readers are from the USA but 20 % are from UK and the rest of Europe. So I added affiliate links in pounds and euro too, takes more time but worth doing so...
No experience with Chinese though but considering the amount of people that talk Chinese I think it's worth a try to focus on China :)

I'm a bit confused. If you are not directly targeting people in China, Why would you write your website in Chinese? Anyone finding your site would most likely not be able to read it. And as far as keywords go, yea you're going to run into some issues. You would have to search the keywords in English, and then transfer them to Chinese and hope for the best.

Anyway, there are plugins that will help you in this

Hi John, thanks. it's actually a personal blog and I'm targeting Chinese audience not specific only to people from China. Thanks for your advice.
