New Rules By Facebook on Advertising
I was just reading an article by Reuters on some recent changes at Facebook on tightening their rules on who can make money advertising on their network. This new set of policies appears to be directed at the criticism Facebook has been getting on how easy it has been for providers of fake news and sensational headlines to cash-in.
The new standards were implemented immediately and aim to make it clearer which publishers can earn money on Facebook and with what content.

Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's COO recently stated:
" We hear their concerns (advertisers) about safe environments, about standards, about measurement, and this is critical to us. We're working hard to roll things out that give you more control over where your ads run, and more knowledge about where your ads run, before, during and after campaign."
So, how will all of these new rules impact how we might utilize Facebook for our internet and affiliate marketing advertising?

Community Standards
According to Facebook in order to make money with Facebook ads you will need to comply with it's so-called community standards. These standards will seek to ensure that your content is authentic, not offensive and adhere to it's guidelines.
If you are found to publish content that is flagged by Facebook as misinformation or fake news it may be ruled as ineligible to profit from Facebook as would creators of clickbait and sensationalism, according to what specific new rules Reuters was able to see.
Facebook's new guidelines for monetization provide broad definition of content that would be disallowed. They are also going to step up their monitoring of hate speech adding more 3,000 additional content reviewers nearly doubling the size of their existing team!
Hopefully, none of these new rules will impact our businesses, but it is recommended that you check out the new Facebook advertising guidelines.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day and a productive and prosperous week!

Facebook and Instagram have become glutted with marketers taking way too many shortcuts. If you're going about it legit, then they're actually doing you a favor by culling the herd of scammers and spammers that have been making it difficult to stand out from the crowd.
It's never going to be the walk in the park like it was 10 years ago, but there are still billions of people online and they're starving for good products, services and information.
Thank you for sharing Wayne, they probably should tighten up, it was going to far the other way, hopefully they will be falling into line with the core values of the silent majority.
It is the usual story if we just post qaulity content and add value to conversations and we shouldn't have any problems.
Say what you will there's a mutual enactment of rules views and enactment at Facebook and WA that mimic each other and for the same reason. Tightening the rules on relevant content!
Very good point, Mike and not everyone is enamored with either of the changes. But they are the rules.

I really like it Wayne, that they are cracking down on the hate speech and such. The bottom line for the REAL marketereers with the good legit content will not be diminished.
