Feeling Low
I am feeling a bit low today, wondering if I'll be able to get the knack of this whole writing business. I come across thousands of so many other articles that are so well written and the content is excellent and the site looks amazing and professional. Today, it feels like a very huge mountain that I'll have to climb in order to get there and I am wondering if by the time I get there, if it will be too late and that things would have changed so drastically that there is no way for me to catch up or earn more than pocket money ... I wish I knew of WA 10 years ago! Is there really hope for someone from a non-us, African country to earn a living?
I am not giving up yet, though! I realize that I have only been here for about a month and that hopefully, I will get better over time! :)
I am documenting these feelings to reflect back on in the future and hopefully to track my growth.

I feel for you. I think I felt the same way too a month in but trust me it gets better and suddenly things will click.
It doesn’t matter where you live in the world or when you start.
You have the same chance as anyone to make money.
Just follow the training and stick at it.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
Thanks for the encouragement :) I have also found a lot of your posts on WA helpful, thank you for posting them.
I'm just a little scared that I'm too late, but I'm definitely sticking with it because I really enjoy this!
It's natural to feel that way Wanda, especially when you first start out in affiliate marketing. I always recommend to just focus on your own business and website. It's so important to put the blinkers on and not think about what others are doing. You'll only get distracted from achieving your own goals.
"Success is in the journey and not the destination." :) You may have hear of that famous quote. It's so true though. You never really get to the mountain top as there is so much to learn and do in this industry. You just keep working towards your goals and when you have achieved your initial goal then you make a new goal both short-term and long-term. When you achieve those you set some more. It's an on going process.
I let you into a secret. I've been in this industry since 2002 and when you've been doing this as long as me you come to realise it never really is about the look of your website, or what plugin to choose or how much traffic you get but instead it's about the person you become during the journey. :)
Deep answer, Kevin! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this one. Much appreciated!!!
I appreciate you taking the time to reply in such a beautiful manner. Your words are wise and I will take heed of them.
I am focusing too much on the destination instead of the journey :) thanks for reminding me!
Hi Wanda,
I can totally feel you're pain. I was there so many times, and I get there over and over again. I, too, more than often doubt a given business model and if *I* will be able to succeed. And just like you, I don't know. Motivation comes and goes, and I believe that this is a normal thing.
The good thing about this particular business model is that our monetary expenses are quite low, and that time is the most important factor. So as long as you enjoy writing and enjoy building that business, you're basically paying nothing.
The key is not to give up, but also allow yourself a day of feeling low. Reaching out to the community is already a good first step to "feeling up" again :-)
Cheers,
chris
Thanks so much, Chris, it helps to know that one is not alone with these feelings. I understand that it's normal to go through these ups and downs, and like you said - reaching out to the community just makes it that much easier to get through these periods :)
I forgot my main aim - which is to help others with my website - time to shift my focus off myself, focus on the journey and what I want to achieve here, and the rest will, hopefully, follow :)

I joined the day you posted this. I find that ironic. I've been kinda down lately as well because I just can't seem to get this writing thing down either. It's a little discouraging since we rely so much on the content and I can't seem to produce and good content.
If it makes you feel better - a little time has passed and I had a bit more practice and can definitely say that it DOES get easier. I know there is still much room for improvement, but the point is - I see improvement and that is motivating enough :) Just push through, you'll get there :)
Thank you so much! :)
