Why ‘We are Blessed’

• We are finished!
• We are toast!
• We are dead meat!
• We are doomed!

Any of these sound familiar? An expression of your exasperation; the total sum of your state of mind upon having hit a dead end?

Say no more, I’ve been to that point too, several times over. Sometimes way too many times in the same day than is embarrassing to admit.

Unfortunately, it is so easy to get accustomed to looking at life through this lens of desperation, lost hope and continuous gloom. It’s even worse when those around you or the circumstances just keep ‘conniving’ to continuously push you to this conclusion.

However, the day that I discovered that there is a better condition, things ‘changed’ for the better. I put the change in quotes because though the circumstances remained the same, a realignment of my conclusion from negative to positive strengthened my resolve.

Although the storms continued to rage and the dark night seemed to have no end, I purposed to think about sunrise. The thought of the sun rising over that dark horizon gave me hope to go through all the gloom that surrounded me at the time.

All that changed the day I changed my confession from any of the above to ‘We are Blessed.’ Just think of the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear/read the word toast or doom, worse still dead meat!

And then think Blessed, Blessing, Bless. Those stir up warmth, life, abundance!

So let’s change our confession and make this life worth living.
