My Wealthy Affiliate Journey

Starting out
My Wealthy Affiliate (WA) journey so far has been nothing short of fulfilling. I landed on this community of happy and helpful people after a relentless search on "Making Money Online". My search led me to watch several hours of YouTube videos, read tens of blogs, get trapped by my fair share of click bait and try out a few programs, some too hectic for the eventual reward and some downright prohibitive to get into because of their 'entry fees'.
Thankfully, my YouTube video watching paid off. I landed on a channel (Not Taught At School) by a great guy, with whom we coincidentally shared a first name, and he was talking about this affiliate website that was free to get into. As always, he added, "It won't cost you anything to check it out so sign up for the free account and have a look." I'm glad I did!
Firstly I was struck by the amount of training available on the free membership and better still, overwhelmed but a little suspicious of the warm reception and offers to help. The harsh encounters in the past had not been very helpful. This was so unreal. Later, I'd learn that these were genuinely happy folk, eager to help.
My niche
My first and current niche at WA is "domain names". I've always admired the real estate industry but didn't have the resources or finesse to dive into it. My background in Computer Science however led me into "Internet Real Estate" as domain names are often called. The thought of finding a good buy, holding onto it and selling it for a good profit has always resonated well with me. I look forward to turning this into a real profitable venture.
Successes
My first days on WA were marked by my old mode; speed read to get the formula and make some money! I would soon learn that it was not all about making money but producing content that is helpful to people. This marked my first real success; mindset change.
My second and most heartwarming success was being able to comment on other Members' articles/posts or give website reviews. This led me on the road to discovery of all the niches that people were practically engaged in and how their audiences responded to their content. This was a real success to me, as I practically experienced the joy of what Kyle meant by "Paying It Forward".
I have also had the chance to meet and interact with some really awesome people. I'm always challenged by the Seniors who are not only regularly posting content but also saying it like it is; shooting from the hip - take it or leave it. If you are reading this post, you know yourself :) Thanks for being a true Sheriff!
I've also received some really detailed and helpful feedback from Members through direct messages. The attention to detail in some feedback was so humbling, all I could think to myself is that people pay hundreds of dollars for this kind of audit and here I am getting it free of charge! I'm eternally grateful and will cherish this feedback going forward.
Plans and goals
In the upcoming three months, I want to open two more niche sites on the siterubix platform. This will allow me to test the audience and find more related affiliate programs before eventually buying a domain for each of them.
In the upcoming six months, I hope to have made my first sale through the affiliate programs and used some of that income to pay for my annual membership. I also hope to have hit the below 1,000 Rank on WA.
