Why WealthyAffiliate Makes Sense as a Managed Wordpress Hosting Provider

As most, I wear multiple hats in life - I'm a senior Linux Systems Engineer working for one of the worlds largest hosting providers, over 17 years working professionally in the hosting industry myself, I run a side consulting business and I'm also a professional touring and recording drummer. I stay busy to make ends meet and allow myself the resources to do the things I enjoy in life.
As a hosting veteran and someone who hosts and/or assists friends with their various websites, I've always maintained some sort of 'outside work' web hosting solution - more often than not a 'reseller' solution. Reseller hosting packages allow you to host many websites and act as sort of your own web hosting provider. Typically these sort of accounts can cost from $20 up to the $200 range, where you then start getting in to the realm of your own dedicated server or other solution. In fact, many large web hosting companies at one time started out exactly this way, hosting for friends, needing more space or computing power, upgrading, growing, expanding, etc - until they became large enough to host their own hardware infrastructure. A lot has changed however in the past 20 years in the industry...
Virtualization became a computing reality and real time scalability feasible and affordable. Why buy or lease hundreds of dedicated server hardware, when you can easily spin up a 'virtual' server in almost real time when needed. This has changed the hosting industry. Along with this, software also changed to adapt to the ever growing power of 'cloud' computing. Software as a Service, and things such as 'Managed Wordpress Hosting' became viable for providers to offer. It offloads the burden of installing, maintaining and administrating your own Wordpress installations per se, and allows the customer to focus on content while the backed provider handles the daily tasks of backups, updates, securing and maintaining a larger user base with unified code bases.
Here we are with WealthyAffiliate and how it makes sense to me as a hosting solution first and foremost. I was looking for a new 'reseller' sort of hosting provider outside of my regular work place. Additionally, I've been dabbling with affiliate programs for a few years already with mixed results, but have been wanting to get more in depth and actually take the time to capture some gems of insight. I remembered I had joined WA back in 2014 as a free member to check out the affiliate training, but honestly, it didn't stick and the core hosting ~at that time~ wasn't compelling and I fell away. Recently, I logged back in to see how their hosting platform has evolved in the 3 years.

I was very, very pleasantly surprised ! As a core hosting platform, for someone like, WA Hosting is a fantastic value. At my prior hosting provider I was paying the same amount for a 'reseller' package to host several sites, however it did not offer:
- Core underlying redundant infrastructure that WA is based on,
- FreeSSL,
- Performance options,
- Managed Wordpress platform
- Unified backend site management,
That's just to name a few, but here's the BIGGIE.... Community and Training ! If you're looking to dig in to affiliate marketing or just getting more traffic for your site, there's a wealth of information available here and that's something that's difficult to put a price on. Is it perfect, No. There are some things from my experience I'd like to see improved and expanded upon and I've communicated some of them, and I'm happy to say those were actually already in the works. So yeah, WA Hosting makes a lot of sense as a core Managed Wordpress Hosting platform and I'm in the process of migrating my sites over the next few weeks.
I look forward to all the new relationships here !
