As a Strategy Consultant, I would think you would know exactly what “strategy” you should use? Here are a few...

1. Create your Brand (Business name)
2. Develop your USP (unique selling proposition) or specialty
3. Set up your Company (S Corp., LLC or sole proprietorship)
4. Spring for a good Logo/Logo Type/positioning slogan
5. Develop a classy professional looking Business Card/Proposal package.
6. Work up a “Talking Outline” of what you do; coupled with why each point will save your clients money or increase their sales/profits.
7. Rehearse these along with several capsule examples you have done for other products/companys/divisions with summary of real results.
8. Create a “most likely” potential client list.
9. Add key contacts to that list.
10. Start making calls including networking mutual acquaintances.
11. End each call with a “whom else” question… (Whom else would they recommend you talk to?)
12. Advertise in trade journals/media and targeted internet depending on your industry. (Increases your reach and credibility)
13. Set up a professional facebook page until you can do a refined internet site. Rely on good designers to create the right look and feel.
14. Follow the 5 R’s of basic marketing. 1. Reach-out; 2. Get good Readership/Audience (as much as you can afford and handle) 3. Get Results; Refine; Repeat.
